[Atop the Leviathan, Forward Dorsal Viewing Gallery]
The cold air nips and the wind howls. To the far east and northeast, points of light dot hazy islands, and to the west, the mainland stretches to the horizon, scattered cities visible as streetlights and illuminated homes. The leviathan gently undulates as it flies in a wide circle above the seas, massive flippers slowly beating against the air. Shadowy outgrowths coat the leviathan's back, hunkered down against the low tide of flight. Lateral air sacs occasionally hiss and groan, breathing with a life of their own as the leviathan regulates its bouyancy. Periodically arcing in and out of view, the back of the leviathan's broken horn crowned head rises and falls, calling out in rumbles and whistles. Lines of bioluminesence wind along the creatures body, pulsating as it flies. A rectangular gazebo made of shaped coral and shell provides shelter from the winds. Separated by a narrow walkway, a secondary viewing gallery can be seen rearward on the leviathan.

Kolanem exclaims, "ANYWAY! Welcome back! We are excited for festival! Some things to talk about!"

Sofina exclaims, "Dont want to miss out on this!"

Kolanem says, "The skies have been active, many shooting stars, many changes. In Andreshlew, we excited to have you back and hope you enjoy collaborations with many artists."

Harsh smiles at Kolanem.

Elurora cocks her head at Kolanem.

Kolanem says, "Voidgazers still blind, Gillborn still hiding. Things have been good and curiously quiet."

Medir asks, "Too quiet?"

A wailing trill echoes across the area.

Kolanem looks up and sighs.

Kolanem says, "YES THEY KNOW."

Kolanem asks, "Leviathans still wonderful. Several migrating to distant seas, some complaining of other leviathans they dislike. Seems silly family drama. Is that right term, family drama? When love person, hate being around them, hate being away from them?"

Huebald nods to Kolanem.

Elzas nods to Kolanem.

Dytt smokily says, "That's about right."

Jaelia says, "That or marriage."

Ciarelle nods at Kolanem, obviously agreeing with his views.

Kolanem nods in agreement.

Dytt grins at Kolanem.

Sukidesu says, "Hey I am happily married to both my wives."

Kolanem says, "Same same, for drylander, for Merelew."

Kolanem laughs at Sukidesu.

Elurora asks Jaelia, "Do leviathans marry?"

Dytt smokily says, "Even our Pack can be stiffling at times."

Kolanem says to Elurora, "They don't really talk about it. They live together as all manner of relationship. Leave for time, come back with baby leviathan."

Elurora grins at Kolanem.

Kolanem says, "Sometimes baby leviathan is mating pair. Sometimes is adopted."

Elurora says to Kolanem, "Doesn't sound that different from people. Only they tend to talk about it a lot."

Kolanem shrugs.

You say, "Aww."

Medir chuckles at Kolanem.

Kolanem says, "Right, so, last time, you helped T'tanadrashi, Se Sedavu, and Alu-Leluni with their deep dives, fighting the avatar of Drogor. They recognize the aid and are eager for it again. Maybe the others will also seek aid."

Kolanem says, "Leviathans very excited about mainlanders. Much talking."

You perk up your ears happily as you gaze at Kolanem.

A deep growl shakes the area. Kolanem smirks.

Kolanem says, "Yes, yes, they know, they know."

Kolanem says, "This one is very happy. Right then. Leviathan council very impressed. T'tanadrashi, Se Sedavu, and Alu-Leluni convinced you will again ease their passage, by fighting off angry Alune. They arguing with others to trust you more."

Dantia smiles at Kolanem.

Madigan nods to Kolanem.

Jaelia beams at Kolanem!

Kolanem says, "As reminder, though this sounds grim, leviathans claim both they and Aluna curious to see how you fare. When Andreshlew rises, seek the leviathan ecologist. She will be able to help."

Teavira serenely asks, "It got awfully quiet, yes?"

Kolanem exclaims, "So, enjoy view. Enjoy buffet. Andreshlew comes soon!"

Teavira gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Dantia smiles.

Korya exclaims, "Enjoy the wind!"

Korya emits a rumbling noise of contentment.

Kolanem says, "Sometimes cold up here."

Raising his sweetened zuoganaas to Kolanem, Medir gives him a toast.

Sylphaen angles her ears forward in curiosity.

Kolanem gets an impish expression on his face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Korya grins ear-to-ear.

Elurora smiles at Kolanem.

Madigan mumbles a word of general praise.

Dytt smokily says, "I was raised in the snows. The cold I actually enjoy."

Jaelia says, "BUt it is clear sky and it is spring! Even if chill."

(Dytt closes her eyes happily in the cold wind)

Kolanem says, "Merelew mostly not fans of the ice and cold. But some live in cold waters with floating ice. Very strange."

Teavira serenely says, "I have a fur coat on, and I didn't have to buy it."

Harsh quietly says, "I need a fur coat."

Korya says, "I want to meet THOSE Merelew."

Starrezzer says, "I'm a dwarf, I don't know the meaning of cold."

Hekekapo asks, "Do they live there for food supply or something?"

Korya says, "I loved swimming in Archer's Ford in the winter... breaking the river ice... riding it downstream..."

Hekekapo says, "Many fish and crustaceans like cold deep waters."

Kolanem says, "Mostly explorers, living there short time. Come back after they feel like it."

Teavira serenely says, "Mmm...fish..."

Kolanem says, "Some leviathan prefer the cold. Though they are older, and less talking."

A deep growl shakes the area.

Kolanem nods in agreement.

Jaelia says, "Uh oh."

Kolanem says, "Yes, they're sleepy."

Madigan quietly says, "Zemmy thinks you called him old."

Kolanem says, "Nono, Zemmunhu says, leviathans that like the cold, they old and sleepy."

Sylphaen quietly says to Sofina, "Another that makes many noises."

Korya says, "Sleepy old sea-sky-snakes..."

Kolanem laughs at Madigan.

Kolanem says to Madigan, "Zemmunhu is old. Be sure you remind him of that."

Madigan grunts at Kolanem.

A wailing trill echoes across the area.

Kolanem grins.

Harsh quietly asks, "And sleepy?"

Medir says, "Young at heart."

Khearkrash says, "Im old and sleepy, but I still prefer the warmth."

Medir asks, "Or hearts?"

Kolanem nods.

Hamuk says, "I'm old, and I'm still wonderful."

Medir says, "I don' know leviathan anatomy."

Kolanem says, "Zemmunhu very young at heart."

Dytt smokily says, "I mean to us even what Zemmu might call a baby is usually quite old."

Jaelia says to Kolanem, "But Sir Madigan is a bit old too. We try not to say it in public, however."

Kolanem says, "Much fight in Zemmunhu."

Madigan says, "Just so."

Medir grins at Kolanem.

Starrezzer asks, "Whats wrong with being old?"

Harsh quietly asks, "A bit?"

Gridaksma asks, "Do we try not to?"

(Korya spreads out and hugs the 'ground'.)

Harsh quietly says, "You are so kind."

Huebald quietly says, "Cold makes me sleepy too. Don't have to be old for that."

Harsh quietly says, "A bit."

Jaelia says, "Oh I said that out loud... Oh no."

Harsh quietly says, "Hah."

Madigan quietly says, "Gads."

Dytt smokily says to Huebald, "That usually means you need to get inside somewhere."

Sukidesu says, "I'm old, but I'm a Kaldar, so... cold doesn't bother me anyway."

Yallen says, "I bes luk'n das verra guds."

Dytt smokily says to Sukidesu, "I would say something about being neck deem in snow half my life, then I recall that'd be like up to your knee."

Kolanem says, "Some leviathans very ancient. They have seen many things. Zemmunhu only pretty old. Has seen many things too, but reminds us that still good at flying."

Hamuk nods to Kolanem.

Sukidesu says, "You are probably not wrong."

Hamuk says, "Very good at missing the ground. I'm suitably impressed."

Elurora asks Kolanem, "Do you know how old he is?"

Medir says, "We are very glad he's still such a great flyer."

Kolanem shakes his head.

Elurora grins at Kolanem.

Kolanem says, "Asking leviathans about their age never gives useful information."

Teavira serenely says, "I'm sure he could bounce all of us off into the ocean if you press too hard."

Kolanem says, "They talk about the landscape, and things that are not here anymore."

Yallen asks Kolanem, "Cannas I bes pet'n dems?"

Khearkrash asks, "Did leviathans even really have a concept of age as a number before interacting with the shorter lived lifeforms?"

Korya says, "Ooh..."

Dytt smokily says, "I remember seeing his memory of Ghazir's shards falling into the sea when he first gace us a ride."

Yallen asks, "Dems gohts un nams?"

Harsh quietly says, "Oh yes."

Korya asks, "Can we ask him to fly over Andreshlew and then when we want off we just leap over the side into the ocean?"

Ghust quietly says, "Ah."

Kolanem says to Khearkrash, "Is a good question. Not sure. I think they just measure it in different lengths than we do."

Nawain curiously asks Kolanem, "When are they fitted for their gazebos and viewing galleries? Do they all have them, or only the ones who like showing others the skies?"

Piw says to Yallen, "I think the nickname we've called it is Zemmy. I don't know the full name."

Dytt smokily says, "Sweety."

Yallen asks, "Seemee? Ors Zehsmees?"

Kolanem says, "We measure time in passes around sun, or moons waxing and waning. Leviathans measure in mountains rising and falling, stars shifting to something new."

Piw says to Yallen, "The latter."

Elurora softly says, "Gosh, that seems like a long time."

Kolanem says to Nawain, "Oh, whenever they want. They say "I want drylanders to fly with me" and we build gazebo for them."

Nawain nods to Kolanem.

Korya asks, "So he doesn't even get a chance to miss us...?"

Medir says, "T'still have a sense of humour after all that time is an amazing thing."

Kolanem says to Korya, "For something so old, Zemmunhu can be very impatient."

A loud *HOOT* shakes the area and a deep chittering echoes. The leviathan is laughing.

Dytt laughs!

Korya's ears perk up happily.

Kolanem smirks.

Elurora giggles.

Madigan grins.

Yallen giggles.

Yallen bounces around happily.

Teavira giggles.

Piw says, "Its part owl."

Korya says, "Aren't we all..."

Yallen exclaims, "Dems laffs!"

Yallen giggles.

Sylphaen utters a soft, short trill.

Piw giggles.

Ghust quietly says, "What was that/."

Teavira's tail undulates lazily through the air.

Madigan says, "A pleasing sense of humor as well."

Kolanem says to Medir, "Zemmunhu one of best. Loves Merelew, loves drylanders. We lucky for Zemmunhu."

Medir smiles at Kolanem.

Dytt smokily says to Piw, "Remember, when under water that laugh probably is heard litterally on the other side of the world."

A series of trills echoes across the area.

Medir says, "Very lucky indeed."

Dantia says, "And we drylanders are grateful for Zemmunhu's kindness to take us flying."

Piw says to Dytt, "I try not to be under water very often."

Kolanem says, "Other leviathans also kind, though some less interested in Merelew. It varies."

Dantia nods to Kolanem.

Korya says, "I try not to not be under water very often..."

Ghust quietly says, "Wow, its beauftul."

Dantia asks, "Do the leviathans remember seeing so many shooting stars as we've seen lately?"

Dantia raises an eyebrow in Kolanem's direction.

Jaelia says, "Very Lovely... Starfall."

Madigan quietly asks, "Or that bloody big one hurtling towards us?"

The leviathan grumbles, then hoots, and shifts slightly to gain altitude.

You scan the skies for a few moments.
Two-thirds of the Starfall is blocked by cloud cover above.
You struggle to make your observation through the clouds.
Taking over a folio-sized region of the eastern sky, the phenomenon resembles a constantly streaked span crisscrossed by omnidirectional shooting stars. Occasionally a meteor will burst in a display of rainbowed radiance. The brilliant white streaks only linger for a beautiful moment before sparkling out of existence.
Astronomers note the magnitude and direction of each falling star appears random, which is atypical of such a concentration. Conjecture of the origin of the Starfall ranges from a particularly large debris field to benevolently playful planar entities, though the radiant flares obfuscate the meteors' composition. You learned something useful from your observation.

Kolanem says, "Not too high Zemmunhu."

(Jaelia points out towards the Starfall display in the observable sky.)

Piw exclaims, "Higher higher!"

The leviathan trills, and levels off.

Kolanem smirks.

Hekekapo asks Korya, "Think we can breathe up there?"

Korya asks, "Why wouldn't we?"

Dantia quietly says to Madigan, "Perhaps the Merelew will have some insight into the stars that we have missed from the mainland."

Medir asks, "Another use for air bubble?"

(Nawain lifts her squirming badger up to see the land far below. It manages to look both terrified and unimpressed before diving back into its log.)

Medir says, "Miraculous."

Dytt smokily says, "It'd be a toss up between freezing and sufocating."

Kolanem says to Madigan, "Zemmunhu thought the dive would be funny. Zemmunhu does that to us sometimes too."

Medir grins at Kolanem.

Kolanem says, "Big current, shoves us around."

(Jaelia stares out east in combination of rapt awe and a partial longing to be closer to the scene.)

Madigan says to Kolanem, "Tell him we need to go back and get my stomach sir."

Ghust quietly says, "Wow. just.....wow."

The leviathan sways side to side gently.

Darkewolff quietly asks Medir, "How goes the flying lesson?"

Teriff says, "Oh dear."

Medir says to Darkewolff, "I'll have it down in a few millenia."

Jaelia says, "Exlcuse me for a rois."

Dytt smokily asks Medir, "Enjoying your return so far?"

Kolanem exclaims to Hamuk, "If you get airsickness, return to rear gallery for some cold water!"

Hekekapo says, "I mean, being on mountains makes it hard to breathe, i would think going mountains upon mountains higher would make it near impossible."

Piw says to Hamuk, "There's also squid jerky back there."

Elurora softly says to Gridaksma, "Mister Miskton is going to be sorry he missed the Starfall, I think."

Medir says to Dytt, "Couldn't have asked for a better time t'be back."

Hamuk says, "I think I'll be okay."

Piw says to Hamuk, "Might be uh opposite effects."

Sofina says, "Squid...jerky."

(Dantia takes hold of one pillar of the gazebo to stay steady on her feet.)

Sylphaen quietly says to Hamuk, "Shouldn't used Sure Footing before we left."

Harsh quietly says, "Sick bag."

Dytt smokily says to Sofina, "It's not bad, but a bit of anquired taste."

Gridaksma says to Elurora, "It is a shame not to get his opinions on the meaning as well."

(Jaelia holds to a piece of something and leans further out towards the east, standing on tiptoes.)

Hamuk says to Harsh, "There are still crackers in here."

Kolanem asks, "Do drylanders have any insight into the starfall?"

Sofina says, "I imagine it'd be rude if I didnt at least try a bite.."

Ghust quietly says, "Where are we, exactly."

Harsh quietly says, "Oh."

Harsh quietly says, "Krenze snacks."

Elurora says to Ghust, "We're on the Leviathan."

(Dytt hops on the railing and holds on with a huge grin on her face)

Hamuk says to Ghust, "In the sky."

Kolanem says to Ghust, "Flying above the ocean, a little offshore of your city called Crossing."

Gridaksma says to Kolanem, "That particular one is rather good at understanding the stars in general."

Nawain enthusiastically exclaims to Ghust, "Up!"

Hamuk says, "This water doesn't have any booze in it."

Sylphaen quietly asks, "Only jerky,or live squid food too?"

Kolanem says, "It can be a little disorienting. Our ripplegates are more elegant than your moongates."

Ghust quietly says, "This is amazin."

Kolanem says, "And also, we're atop Zemmunhu, which is... Zemmunhu is big."

Elurora quietly says, "This is a bit like being a boat, only boats don't laugh."

Starrezzer says, "Always bring your own."

A loud *HOOT HOOT HOOT* shakes the area!

Madigan says to Kolanem, "None, other than one is getting closer as the days pass. It is concerning."

Piw says, "Oh we be hootin."

Ghust quietly says, "ACK."

Huebald exclaims to Elurora, "If they did, I might use 'em more!"

Gridaksma says to Kolanem, "Some of our kind are likely more used to ripplegates than others."

(Jaelia tries to step up on a bit of the gazebo structure, her knuckles white and clenched in fear, but her eyes never leave the skies or Starfall.)

Kolanem exclaims to Madigan, "The Long Throw? We have seen it too!"

Elurora says to Huebald, "I wish I could talk to him like Mister Kolanem."

Kolanem says to Jaelia, "Is long way down."

Madigan asks Kolanem, "Why do you call it the Long Throw?"

Korya exclaims, "ZEMMY! Do a loop-de-loop!"

Piw says to Elurora, "I mean you can, they just might not understand."

Teriff says, "No. Please don't."

Jaelia says to Kolanem, "All stars fall at some point."

Hekekapo says, "Maybe if you try real hard you can cut the sky object in half."

Elurora says to Piw, "I guess I should say, I wish I could understand *him*."

(Dytt continues dancing on the railing, laughing happily)

The area shakes slightly and suddenly dips with a gutwrenching lurch! The leviathan levels off and trills in amusement.

Huebald says to Elurora, "Aye. He certainly seems to have a lot to say. And poor Mister Kolanem can't translate and have his own conversation at the same time."

Korya gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Kolanem coughs.

Dantia says, "Oof."

Sylphaen bounces around happily.

Kolanem says, "Zemmunhu..."

Hamuk falls over.

Teriff blanches.

Ciarelle wobbles, looking a bit faint.

Teavira laughs!

Sylphaen pats Hamuk on the back.

Elurora chortles softly at some secret joke.

Ghust quietly says, "Gack."

Piw squeals!

Medir wobbles, looking a bit faint.

Dytt yells, "WHEE!"

Madigan says, "Gads."

Piw says, "Weeee."

Hamuk says, "Ow."

You quirk both ears outward in surprise.

Yallen giggles.

Hamuk stands up.

Yallen squeals!

Medir says, "Now that.. was a good punchline."

(Jaelia shrieks loudly as if he were about to fall of the side of something and clenches tighter and breathes heavily.)

Ghust quietly says, "Alotta punch to it."

Kolanem says to Madigan, "Uh, sorry, anyway, why call it Long Throw? Not sure. Merelew stargazers say it looks like something from afar maybe ready to throw? Or fire? But also say they are embellishing like they do with all constellations."

Piw says, "I wonder if he can do a barrel roll..."

Dantia gazes at Kolanem.

Kolanem says, "Merelew stargazers sometimes more storytellers."

Korya says, "Dooo iiiit."

Elurora says to Piw, "I'm not sure we can stay on if he does."

Huebald says to Piw, "We ain't strapped into the gazebo."

Korya exclaims, "We'll land in the ocean!"

Dantia asks Kolanem, "Do you think any of these Merelew Stargazers will be out on Andreshlew to speak with?"

Teavira serenely says, "I don't want wet fur."

Teriff says to Kolanem, "I get that feeling too, everytime I look at it. Unsettling."

Korya seriously says, "Wet fur's the best furs."

Piw says, "I'm sure most of us bounce."

Kolanem asks Dantia, "Maybe! I can pass along word you would be interested in speaking to some if that is wanted?"

Elurora says to Piw, "I'm not sure I...bounce like that."

Dytt smokily says to Teavira, "You realize you have to ride a dolphin to get to the island? You're going to get wet."

Hekekapo says, "Contrary to the name, I much prefer the desert to being dumped in the ocean."

Dantia nods to Kolanem.

Teavira serenely says to Dytt, "Don't remiind me."

Sofina says, "Never hurts to compare notes and ideas."

Huebald exclaims, "I got tarts in my bag I'd like to save for later. Not for sharin' with the fishes!"

Elurora says, "I like the dolphins..."

Hamuk asks Kolanem, "What happened to his horn?"

Dantia says to Kolanem, "It would be very useful for both the drylanders and Merelew to discuss it."

Medir says, "In th'spirit of trust and collaboration."

Kolanem nods at Dantia, obviously agreeing with her views.

Kolanem says, "I will pass along."

Elurora quietly says to Darkewolff, "Though to be fair, they haven't dump in the ocean...yet."

Dantia says, "We share the same sky, after all."

Dantia curtsies to Kolanem.

Khearkrash asks, "Well, where do they do that then?"

Kolanem says to Dantia, "That is true and well said."

Darkewolff quietly says to Elurora, "I should have brought my swim trunks."

Yallen says to Kolanem, "Wes bes need'n tas entrohdush dems tas das pataytoes."

Ghust quietly asks, "Um.......fergive mah ignorance, but who are the Merlow?"

Harsh blinks at Ghust.

Teavira points at Kolanem.

Ghust blushes a bright red color.

Dantia smiles.

Khearkrash blinks at Ghust.

Kolanem looks at Ghust. A thin nictitating membrane closes over his eyes briefly.

Following the old Merelew custom, Elzas bows to Kolanem, then extends her foot. Kolanem touches the inside of Elzas's right foot with their own. They both repeat this with their left foot.

Ghust quietly says, "Err sorry,."

Darkewolff says, "It is a fine wine."

Kolanem says, "Hello Ghust. I am of Merelew people."

Ghust quietly says, "Hello."

Ghust bows to Kolanem.

Dantia says, "The Merelew graciously invite us to their island of Andreshlew every few years, where we shop and play games."

Ghust quietly says, "Oh neat."

Kolanem says, "Merelew live in Andreshlew, city beneath the sea. Andreshlew rises for festival."

Madigan says, "It is a rare time."

Teriff says, "And assist them in various ways.."

Teriff says, "Or so I hear."

Teriff says, "I've never been."

Elurora says to Teriff, "It's very pretty, the island."

Sukidesu says, "The island is fantastic."

Darkewolff asks Kolanem, "So under the sea?"

Teriff says, "I'm sure it is."

Ghust quietly says to Kolanem, "Its nice ta meetcha."

Khearkrash says, "Or, you know, if you spend any time in zoluren..."

Jaelia asks, "Zoluren is a wonderful Community, is it not?"

Darkewolff asks Kolanem, "Under the sea?"

Kolanem exclaims, "Andreshlew currently under sea. Will be rising soon!"

Darkewolff says to Jaelia, "Not."

Jaelia says to Darkewolff, "You just like to be contrary."

Khearkrash says to Jaelia, "It is, my second favorite."

Kolanem says, "Lots of new shops. More chances to help leviathans."

Teriff asks Kolanem, "Do you rise just for the drylanders and the festival?"

(Jaelia returns to her stargazing.)

Darkewolff exclaims to Jaelia, "That is wrong!"

Teriff says to Kolanem, "Or rather, does the island rise.."

Kolanem says to Teriff, "Well... Yes."

Teavira serenely says, "I love spending money."

Starrezzer says, "Last time I visited Andreshlew there was an issue with Ocular... I'm guessing that's been resolved..."

Kolanem says, "Oh yes, the reefs migrate."

Elurora blinks at Kolanem.

Harsh quietly says, "Migrate right over top ya if yur not payin attention."

Huebald asks, "They that dangerous under the water?"

Khearkrash says, "And thats why i stay on top of the water."

Kolanem says, "When the spider fell, the reefs were angry like and migrated a lot. Caused a lot of trouble, yes, like Harsh said, migrated right over many of us."

Elurora says to Huebald, "And out of it."

Sylphaen quietly asks Kolanem, "Do they make mazes when they do?"

Hamuk says to Harsh, "Even if you are paying attention, they'll do it."
