HE 2014 visions and junk

You see a flash of visions. Gorgeous Reshalian and silver albatrosses attacked and cut down in battle against Drogorian stormriders and great white brine sharks. A pale woman's face with tears streaking it. You sense complete and utter sadness as you watch the woman witness her creatures die at the hands of those she intended her avian friends to help. Bitterness. Resentment. Within yourself, you feel a slight rising anger, although your natural instinct to eat the birds quickly overcomes that and you shake yourself back to reality.

Unknown messaging

You sense a lingering spell pattern, though you can not recognize the source. [Mistwood Forest, Forest's Edge] Rossman's gryphons.

Rolling a Prydaen

Fleeing the hordes of undead that have ravaged your homeland, you and the hardiest of your people have finally earned a respite here in this town of The Crossing. Though the people are furless and strange, they are exceedingly interesting, and you learn they have much in common with your Prydaen brothers and sisters. You will always long for the plains and deserts of home, but you could learn to like it here.

You are particularly curious about these "Guilds" you keep hearing about...

colorful fabric butterflies - 3 stones grimy well-worn horseshoes - 5 stones some small bat-eared dogs forged of fine silver - 18 stones

Eluned's Commune Log

[Crystal Cavern, Some Deeper Water] The waters are cold and deep, lightless as the heart of the earth. It surrounds you and cradles you, sustaining your senses, if not your lungs. Obvious exits: none. > Bubbles pass you as you swim through the thick waters. Chilly and dark, you feel a thrill of fear run through you when you realize you can no longer see the surface above you.... > ...and the waters are dragging you down. > You swim further and further down, pushed by the invisible tide and the strain in your lungs. Pressure builds in your ears, behind your eyes. Part of you longs to gasp for air, but the rational part says that to do this will only speed you into death.... > ...and still, the waters are dragging you down. > All around you the world begins to grow darker, and you can feel your consciousness slipping tenuously out of your grasp. You no longer feel cold, only numb. Your limbs feel heavy as you sink.... > ...and the waters drag you down to the bottom at last. >l Water swirls about you, impeding you. >gasp Water swirls about you, impeding you. > Beyond the darkness you see a glimmer of something -- light. Shining through the deep waters, it glances off kelp and flashing schools of fish, glittering sands and the glittering predatorial eyes of the hunters of the sea.

Slowly, the light moves over to you and coalesces into a graceful silver dolphin. > The dolphin gazes down at you, then speaks in a high-pitched voice. "Greetings, pilgrim. You rest now in Eluned's domain. Have no fear for your life -- Eluned protects those who seek knowledge, and you would not have come here if you were not hunting information." >

The dolphin swims about, flipping its tail. "My mistress is named Eluned, goddess of the oceans and the knowledge of the lands. She has a bright aspect -- that of Lemicus -- and a darker one, that of the god Drogor. All are masters of the ocean, and possessors of knowledge beyond mortal ken. It is believed that Meraud and Eluned are sister and brother in the respect that both greatly prize knowledge." The dolphin makes an odd, clucking noise that you would swear is chuckling. > "The symbols of each aspect correlate to what they are. Eluned's is a dolphin, Lemicus -- she of the fresh waters -- is an albatross, and Drogor -- he of hurricanes and angry oceans -- is a shark." The dolphin flips its tail, as if agitated. > "Now," it continues when it has calmed down, "you have come here seeking knowledge. So shall I instruct you. Protection I have given you while you remained here, so protection can you give unto yourself. Simply wave holy incense at yourself and then commune. If pure you be, and in favor with the gods, then you shall receive my lady's protection. Else...." the dolphin swims about silently. > The dolphin swims closer and peers at you with its laughing eyes. "I hope you have learned well, young Zenialor, for you cannot return here ever again. I see within you the fires of Tamsine; this is good. Now know the cool waters of Eluned, and all that they can quench and succor."

As the dolphin finishes, a giant air bubble enfolds you and begins to lift you upward. Cool shades of green and blue pass you as you continue up, and finally you see the promise of light, and the glancing, flashing glow of crystal....

Tamsine's Commune Log

[Tamsine's Home, Fireside] This room is huge and made of a beautiful, warm golden stone. A large hearth is set into the westmost wall, and a fire flickers within it, keeping the room warm and cozy. A cat is seated before the fire, and watching you carefully. You also see a curled-up fat cat. Obvious exits: none. > The cat gazes sleepily at you, and then, amazingly, speaks! "Greetings, Zenialor," she purrs. "Welcome to the home of my mistress, Tamsine." >exam cat The cat is a splendid fire-point tabby with white socks and a white and ginger mask. Her eyes glitter a warm topaz color, and a constant purring emanates from her immense form. Her eyes track you wherever you go, and from time to time you see her tail twitch back and forth. >bow cat Perhaps you should not disturb her. >say Hello. You say, "Hello." > The cat continues, "Tamsine, as you may know, is the sweet goddess of hearth and home. She has three aspects -- Tamsine, her primary one, Albreda, her bright one, and Harawep, which is a face mortals rarely see, or wish to see." >nod cat Perhaps you should not disturb her. > "Tamsine's symbol is the cat, Albreda's is the dove's, Harawep's the black widow spider. Tamsine's favor is often called upon when blessings upon a house would be granted. Albreda is the bearer of peace, her gentle ministrations bring treaties and help to watch over orphaned children. Harawep seeks only to destroy, and those who do not offer things unto her will find the appeasement of her rage a hard thing to do." > With a negligent shake the cat uncoils her tail. "Now then," she mewls, "you have been sent in the name of guidance. Very well. Guidance you shall receive. Blessings of the gods you would call, and these things I will teach you. If the power of Tamsine's blessing you would have, simply sprinkle some holy water on yourself or another and commune for her grace. But be warned. Asking for the gods' favor is not something taken lightly, and after doing it you will find that you cannot do so for some time longer. In addition, the gods will turn some of their favor aside from you, so to use your powers you must not only have faith, you must be dedicated to those you serve." > "Blessing others is more difficult than blessing yourself." She eyes you studiously. "It will exact more from you, and it will also not be something you can do until you are a bit more experienced. But you will be able to do it. Never fear." The cat chuckles to herself. It is an odd sound, coming from a feline. > "Now then," the cat says, flicking her tail. "I hope you understand. Now that you have come here, you can never return." The cat looks sorry for a moment, then cheers up, purring softly, "Practice and prosper. The gods only have as much faith in you, Zenialor, as you have in them. Farewell, my child."

You feel a wave of drowsy warmth sweep over you and find that the ground beneath you is sinking. A moment later everything is plunged into a warm golden glow that seems to stretch endlessly all around. Peace beyond words fills you, so complete that you know you will carry a touch of it always. When it fades away, you find you are back where you started....

ALTAR VISIONS

The image of a crystal-clear water fills your mind, spreading out before you. From nearby, notes of pure melodic music drift on the currents of the wind. Though something dark teases the edge of your sight, trying to work its way in, nothing can break the utter tranquility of the moment.

(March 24, 2010)

Ghostly white feathers materialize within a breeze that wafts from the altar, dancing in its currents. As the breeze tightens and develops into a strong, quick wind, you are surrounded by the spinning feathers. They soon vanish one by one, taking the wind with them.

A deep fury seethes somewhere far, far away from here. Two influences tug at your spirit, whirl around each other, and finally meld into one within you.

Your fingers twinge as they touch the altar, its surface echoing outward with ripples as if it were a glassy pond. Slowly its color fades to a murky sea-blue, and the triangular black snout of a shark emerges as soulless eyes lock on yours. You shake your head in disbelief and notice that the wooden altar has returned to its regular form. -- Variation of same with dolphin however still new.

A spectral tidal wave suddenly materializes from thin air and sweeps through the area! You are tossed into a tumultuous sea, and your limbs quickly fatigue in your struggle to remain afloat in the midst of more mountain-like waves cresting all about you. As you lift your head weakly to the red-lit heavens, you see through brine-blurred eyes the glowing form of a winged savior. She reaches out with her arms, but something else pulls you underwater, ending the vision.

Random stuff

A brief warmth fills your soul, and you feel that all will be right with the world soon. 6/22/09 - Your body is awash in a pale silvery light, as if a thousand crystals had been poured over you. A gentle whisper murmurs into your ear, speaking words of comfort. You are comforted by the feeling that your god has given you a blessing. A comforting hand rests on your shoulder, although when you turn to look, nothing is there. A quiet voice speaks in your mind. "You have garnered our favor. Stand and be strong." A warmth fills your soul as you realize that your god has smiled upon you.

A quiet warmth fills your soul, and for a brief moment you get a glimpse of vision beyond the Wheel. A white-furred Prydaen smiles upon you. "Your time is not yet, kindred. There is still much left for you to do." The vision fades, and you are left with the feeling that your god has smiled upon you.

A calming peace settles over you, washing out your vision with a brilliant light. The image of a white-furred Prydaen with one withered paw appears before you, and she smiles at you warmly. The vision vanishes as quickly as it came, leaving you with the feeling that your god has smiled upon you.

A soft refrain comes to your mind, a woman's voice singing, "When the day is new before you and the sun has just begun, I will take your hand and guide you into the great wide world." The tune lingers for a moment, then drifts away.

A swiftly moving shadow passes by you, vaguely resembling a dark-furred Prydaen. You could swear the creature winks at you, and in a short moment it is gone. It is very difficult to tell if it actually happened, but your heart is warmed by the encounter nonetheless.

Your vision fades, and you feel burned, as if your whole body was on fire, but strangely it doesn't hurt -- It feels more like a cleansing flame. In the heat of the flames, you find a measure of comfort, and you feel the warm arms of a snow-white Prydaen encircling you. As the flames slowly leaves your body unharmed, you are struck with the feeling that your god has smiled upon you.

You find yourself observing a small child who is sitting alone in the middle of a desolate landscape. She can be seen playing with two dolls -- a Prydaen and a Rakash one. Holding them by their backs, she makes them walk around awkwardly, but soon indicates her displeasure with a petulant pursing of her lips. With a purposeful look and a magniloquent sweep of her arms, she smashes the dolls together forcefully, and your vision comes to an end with the explosion of lifelike flesh and blood that ensues. --Zamara 16:01, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Eyes unnaturally clear, a Y'Shai Guardian moves with a heavy grace, shifting position and stance with subtle movements now and again. Black cambrinth armor covers him from head to toe, its seams oddly invisible, as if it was more a part of him than anything else. At his side, he carries a permanent crimson and onyx moonblade.

A bony fylgja suddenly fades away into a cloud of ghostly fog. A bony fylgja chants mockingly,

    "Woode of Night
     to Scorpion's Tail
     You are simply
     Bound to fail!"

A bony fylgja suddenly fades away into a cloud of ghostly fog. A bony fylgja chants mockingly,

    "Shivering wretch
     Phoenix flame
     Will not find
More than shame!" --Zamara 05:11, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Violent winds howl in your ears, not quite obscuring a multitude of distant moans and screams. Your vision slowly comes into focus, revealing three figures facing each other, weapons drawn, amidst a swirling crimson dust storm.

To your left is a young Human man, wielding a curved silver dagger and covered by a dark overcoat. To your right is an Adan'f, holding a mattock and wearing a crude hauberk. Directly across from you is an elderly Halfling woman, in a blood-stained white robe and tensely gripping an oaken cudgel.

A blast of ruddy sand momentarily obscures your vision, but not the clash of weapons. Within a second the figures have turned on each other with murderous intent. Their three-way melee continues unabated as the storm rises around them, consuming everything with its stinging grit.
