<<Last year's fest was called "Festival of the Gods." This year we sort of defaulted to the Hollow Eve name. We are already kicking around ideas for next year's fest, and one thing that I would like to see is a strong name that we can associate with the fest. >>

The reason last year was "Festival of the Gods" is to maintain the storyline that was created to introduce the concept of the event and subsequent festival. Only after the skies became empty and the solution was found to return the fragments to the "hollow" sky, did the festival become "Hollow Eve".

This year, Hobglup basically tried to "beat the rush", correctly anticipating that folks (both players and "citizens") would be worked up into a shopping frenzy and would snap up his dolls, making it much easier for his plan to work.

I overheard several people getting into varying degrees of twist over the fact that there was no way their character would know a festival was coming so everyone needed to stop being OOC and talking about it and ruining their immersion. That's not an accurate stance to take, since this is now a recurring event that the citizenry (and therefore players) will know about, anticipate, and plan ahead for, commemorating the night that the skies were empty and their efforts to correct that, no matter if their opinion on what caused it was scientific or spiritual.

If we need to work in some additional in-character "reminders" to untwist a few folks and make them more comfortable with the event next year, we'll gladly do so.

Moving forward, you can expect the event to be consistently referred to as the Hollow Eve Festival, although there may be a subtitle added, depending on the theme and storyline.
