Second shots are always more powerful than the first, yet here a first shot with a pulzone has nearly the same yield as a second shot with {{PRel|Weapon:Sturdy oak quarrel|quarrel}}s. This is a phenomenal increase in takedown power from the previous test. It's the same pattern we see with bows, where using high-end ammunition can really make a difference. As I mentioned in my last post I could tell the Crossing HX with pulzones was performing better than the {{PRel|Weapon:Cavalryman's slurbow with a silver-inlaid ironwood stock|slurbow}} on {{PRel|Weapon:Crossbow bolt|storebought ammunition}}, but I didn't realize how huge the improvement was. There were a total of 31 apocalyptic hits with pulzones versus only 7 with quarrels.

If you can't find a slurbow right away you can probably find a few pulzones or {{PRel|Weapon:Ironwood quadrello|quadrello}}s for a fraction of the cost. Even with an inexpensive Crossing HX you'll be wielding considerable firepower.
