Look:	Small rocks sway from rawhide thongs along the edge of the trap's door. The rat-catcher will prop the door open with a twig or thin stick and place a bit of bait within. When the rat enters, the twig is dislodged and the door swings firmly shut. The tight weave, ensuring the animal will not escape, also allows the trap to double as a carryall when slung from a strap over the shoulder.
