Cote Rudel (formerly Adh'mor)

Race: Prydaen

Guild: Empath

Title Entangled Cote, Blood Warrior of Elanthia

Deity: Eylhaar

Relationship Status: Married to Morkim D'Morez and Senthic Lupercus

Physical Description

Cote has a round face, ears accented by a pair of jade earrings carved into ivy leaves, mischievous cat-slitted violet eyes and a whiskered nose. Her dark brown mane is long and curly, and is worn in a simple, pulled-back style held in place by a leafy satin vine twined with clusters of night blooming jasmine. She has glittered sandy fur, a strand of blood-red Penitence and Mercy roses wrapped along a slender tail and an athletic figure. She is petite for a Prydaen. Her facial fur is decorated with wispy tendrils of silversteel wire dotted with pale green svelae, creating fern-like arabesques that curl around her left eye before ending in a bevy of small spirals on her cheekbone. Her left hip has a tattoo of an intricate weeping willow tinged in verdant hues along its sweeping branches.

Wearing: Cote is wearing a black raven feather, a mottled bronze eyebrow ring with tiny dangling copper leaves, a burnt umber collar stamped with vines and sporting a small kadepa tag, a sweeping dendritic cloak of living vines strewn with small Dragon Spine orchids, a pair of sanguine wings attached to a skeleton of witchclaw, a glittered madun kit dangling khor'vela jackals, a zoetia-clasped backpack crafted from a twisted mass of vela'tohr vines, a snug emerald faille bandeau wrapped around the chest, a hollow glass armband filled with glittering sand, an interlaced copper and gold raaho resembling braided twigs, a polished darkstone oath ring etched with twining sea serpents, a black gold wedding ring depicting sea creatures entwining around a Drogor's Wrath sapphire, a lion tamer's glitvire-handled whip with a darkly glittering diamond-hide lash, a russet suede split skirt with leaf embroidery and a polished black leather garter secured with a shining silver buckle.

Special Alterations

  • a burnt umber collar stamped with vines and sporting a small kadepa tag
    • Emerald chips accent the dark brown leather of the collar, which has been hand-tooled into a pattern of twining vines and leaves. Miniature flowers fashioned from several pieces of zoetia are interspersed among the vines, the fossilized vela'tohr nectar showing off its variety of colors and debris. A snug fit around the wearer's neck ensures the starburst of kadepa stays centered in place. A burnt umber collar reads: "If found, please return to Morkim."
  • a zoetia-clasped backpack crafted from a twisted mass of vela'tohr vines
    • Verdant marblesilk is ingeniously cut, coiled, and formed into long vines that interlock together to create the artful shape of this container. Dotted amongst the tangle are well-preserved flowers directly from the plant itself, splashing color across the bag. Blood-red, to fiery scarlet, to pale grey flowers pop against the green of the vines, petals open in full bloom to showcase their beauty. At the flap, a clasp of zoetia is carved to resemble an alfar warrior, looking somehow somewhat harried.
  • an interlaced copper and gold raaho resembling braided twigs
    • Two bands of aged copper twist around one of burnished gold, the interior smoothed for comfort. The patina on the outer bands lends a bark-like appearance to the metal, giving the impression of sunlight cradled by branches.
  • a black gold wedding ring depicting sea creatures entwining around a Drogor's Wrath sapphire
    • Two monstrous sea serpents create the undulating shape of the band, their tails wound together as they face opposite directions. A thick, thorny vine further binds them as it spirals around the creatures in a convoluted pattern. At the center of the ring, the fanged jaws of the beasts gape wide to form an opening designed to clutch a single gem between them. Set into the ring is a Drogor's Wrath sapphire.
  • an etched silversteel scimitar with a greenheart hilt
    • The greenheart hilt of the scimitar has been exquisitely carved to resemble the tendrils of a vela'tohr plant wrapping up the blade, while still allowing the wielder a comfortable and secure grip. Etched into the metal, a small Prydaen woman sits and leans against her stalwart alfar companion in relaxation.
  • a lion tamer's glitvire-handled whip with a darkly glittering diamond-hide lash
    • Contoured to fit the holder's grip, the short handle is made of extremely beautiful wood with an intricately whorled grain, its dark, satiny finish variegated by green and purple reflective flecks formed by tiny, crystallized traces of sap. The long, flexible lash has a sparkled tone and is dyed a rich obsidian hue, plaited from very tough and durable leather that tapers to a narrow fall. Tied to the end of the whip is a cracker made from a fine silk fabric woven with tyrium glitter-spun threads.

History and Personality

  • Cote was raised by her parents outside of Muspar'i, who wanted her to learn the ways of the world while still learning enough of the Prydaen culture to be proud of her past.
  • Her best friend, a Halfling boy named Genrill, and her wrought mischief within and without the walls of Muspar'i. At 16, however, they wandered too far into Gam Chaga territory, and Cote watched, helpless, as Genrill was killed by one of the beasties.
  • Cote determined after this to learn how to take care of herself and others. She traveled south with a band of gypsies, and found herself in Crossings.
  • On her first few nights in the new city, she sought refuge under the vela'tohr plant in the Temple. IT has given her comfort ever since, and she honors it as much as she can.
  • After much thought, she joined the Empaths' Guild. She has worked since to be self-sufficient as well as present for healing...most everyone in need.
  • She is impulsive, impatient, and very careful about who she cares about. But she is also extremely loyal, fun-loving, and determined. Hopefully that evens things out.
  • She was married to Derhael, most notably, and had kept that bond throughout the years since he's been gone. She swore she'd never love again. Now she has two wonderful husbands.
  • Her Prydaen roots have led her down the path of Battle Empathing, though she had to trade fresh blood for piles of rubble. Ah, compromise.

I am no one to know what love is, but passion...passion is a friend to me in the darkest of times.

Guardian Spirit

Ipomoea, a harried-looking alfar warrior covered in flowering vines.

Vines coil around the alfar's slender body, the tangle of dark green foliage a stark contrast against its pale skin and pitch-black armor. The flora extends even to its long, dark braid, and a proliferation of tiny violet flowers decorates the expanse of ivy and greenery. Sharp jade eyes seem to constantly seek out its charge, watching for any trouble they might encounter. Though the warrior gives the impression of looking eternally beleaguered, a soft smile of endearment often tugs at its angular face.
