A gryphon is typically described as having the head and forequarters of an eagle or other predatory bird, and the hindquarters of a large cat, such as a lion.
While only forest gryphons have been encountered in the flesh, the description of the forest gryphons reference a standard type of gryphon.
Forest Gryphon
The forest gryphon has the body of a bobcat, while soft brown and white feathers cover the forequarters and wings. The creature's cat-slitted orange eyes are flecked with crimson veins around the pupil. Black and white feathers bar the creature's brown wings, giving it an elegant chevron pattern.
