#REDIRECT [[:Category:Defense ignoring abilities]]
The term '''DFA''', is an [[page type is::definition|acronym]] for "Death From Above," which is used to describe damage dealing abilities that partially or wholly ignore at least one defense skill.

There are a couple of specific types of such abilities:
*Death from above: The original DFA abilities are spells that ignored shield. Targets do not get to use their shield to defend against the attack, but make use of 130% of their {{skill|Evasion}} to compensate. DFA spells also do slightly reduced base damage.
*Armor piercing: These are spells that ignore a portion of a target's armor at the expense of slightly reduced base damage.

Variations of abilities that ignore shield, armor, or other defenses that do not use the above specific mechanics do exist, and details about them can be found on each ability's page.
