Spawned after the Chrysalis opened and the Akul'tiz emerged. Part of Akul'tiz invasions. Comes in various kinds: shrike-tattooed, moth-tattooed, et cetera. Different types are of variable difficulty.
Apparent difficulty order: unadorned
Description
The Akul'tiz is a short, plump humanoid swathed in a blue robe, with hairless grey skin that hangs flaccidly from its frame. It goes barefoot, which may help account for the creature's remarkable speed and agility. Tipping its grub-like fingers are long, sharpened nails painted a bright malachite-green. Its rattish face wears a fixed smile on jaws too wide, teeth too white.
Zebra-tattooed: This particular Akul'tiz has crude zebra markings tattooed across its arms.
Maculated: This particular Akul'tiz has uneven dapples tattooed upon its throat.
Shrike-tattooed: This particular Akul'tiz has a flock of detailed shrike tattoos perching and soaring throughout its whole body but the face.
Moth-tattooed: This particular Akul'tiz has a rabble of umbral moth tattoos alighted delicately all over its torso and shoulders.
Recall
In the year 399 AV, a ragtag cult of Dergati gathered at a shadowy corner of Ker'Leor for a momentous if foolhardy ceremony in order to call down the attention of the dread goddess. Unknowing or otherwise, these people became instruments in the creation of a mysterious chrysalis. Their spirit energy poured into the thing, feeding it like mother's milk. Over time, it gained sentience and seemed to thirst for knowledge, be it Gamgweth or spell patterns, which it gleaned from its many tenders. What emerged years later was not one creature but a whole new race of them, never before seen on the face of Elanthia. They called themselves the Akul'tiz.
Although all Akul'tiz are spiritually attuned to Dergati by birth, only the foremost among them are known to have direct communion with the goddess. Gibberings from some of the creatures indicate that, following their collective birth from the chrysalis, they have made home of another subterranean grotto -- "the Akul'tiz Gardens" -- where they cultivate a myriad of mushroom kinds for their sustenance.
Messaging
A maculated Akul'tiz glances up at the sun through squinting eyes and mutters, "Yavloz ormo tema!" It spits.
Though the accent is off, you understand that as: "May disaster find you!"
Death: A zebra-striped Akul'tiz gasps. "Heyo, Dergati, a'halmir ama! Feasrae fease!" It shudders and dies, its wounds glowing with the mark of the holy.
You think that was creolized Gamgweth for: "Hello, Dergati, I come! Honor of honors!"
Death: An unadorned Akul'tiz collapses to the ground with a curse. It draws its blade-like fingernails across its own throat, dying as it drowns in blood.
Stunned: "Sann... yanon sann," mutters a shrike-tattooed Akul'tiz. It shakes its hairless grey head rapidly as though to clear it.
Though the accent is off, you understand that as: "Nice... nice attack."
Equipment
Special Attack
"Svar kweld!" exclaims an unadorned Akul'tiz. It rakes green fingernails down your face and shouts in delight!
The Akul'tiz hises in vexation as you manage to avoid the clawing.
Or
Horrible pain lances across your face. You are poisoned! (critical head poison)
Arising as a Ghost:
An inky moth of smoky blackness whirs in from above, barely alighting on the corpse of a shrike-tattooed Akul'tiz before fluttering away. In a whorl of spectral mist, a shrike-winged Akul'tiz ghost arises.
A shrike-tattooed Akul'tiz decays away.
