Introduced from the Live Dev panel during SimuCon 2026.

Description

Wild and feral eyes hide behind the emerald hair that drapes over the troll's face. Its forward leaning posture and loud chittering shows the madness that must be in the mind of this pitiful creature. Each finger is tipped with a small, viciously curved claw, honed to a sharp point. The claw troll's emerald-colored hide is covered in a fine layer of mineral dust, giving it a dull, muted appearance that is offset by the occasional glint of light reflecting off the claw troll's claws and teeth.

Recall

Claw troll were once peaceful inhabitants of the Journelai hills, tucked away in small familial burrows. Legend claims that their peace was disrupted one day as a villager from Kaerna discovered one of their troves, pilfering their treasured gems and igniting a feud that transformed them into vicious, warring creatures who attack interlopers on sight.

The claw troll is known to cast the Lay Ward, Telekinetic Throw and Dispel spells.

They are known to carry loot in locked boxes.

In Depth

Special Attacks

Create an emerald claw that they use as ammunition for Telekinetic Throw. Will decay if a player tries to pick it up.

Have another attack which launches a frozen claw at you:

An emerald claw troll harshly chants, "Marlu Iyxatis kort. Thro dyar K'mur." A blue-tinged shadow envelops its left hand briefly before the troll howls savagely and rips the limb from its arm. Icy shards fall as the troll hurls the severed, frozen appendage at you!
Shattering upon impact with your darkstone shield, the troll claw disintegrates into frosted emerald-colored particles that rapidly melt away.

Another special attack can land multiple hits at once:

An emerald claw troll barks out something you can't understand as it lunges towards you, its arms windmilling in a series of blows!
A viciously sharp right claw slams into your neck, landing a glancing (1/23) strike that causes you to stumble slightly.
Thumping harmlessly into your darkstone shield, a viciously sharp left claw fails to do any damage.
