History
Early Life
Armagh was born on the 21st day of the 4th month of Shorka the Cobra in the year of the Iron Toad, 333 years after the victory of Lanival the Redeemer - the second son of Elurienne and Sualtaim Setanta.
Armagh is a Snow Elf hailing from the mountains of Aesry Surlaenis'a. Snow Clan, in this day, being divided into two halves, or moieties: one residing in the mountains and snowfields of Surlaenis'a, and calling itself Wolf, where their Chieftain, Trebar, resides. The other calling itself Raven, and hailing from an enclave hidden in the Dragon Spine mountains, secluded from the capital city of the scheming Mountain Elves and their Queen, Morganae.
Armagh comes from a family of high nobility - the Setanta family being one of several from Wolf moiety whose Matriarch or other head, sits at Council table with Chieftain Trebar. It is also a very large family, with Armagh having seven brothers and sisters ranging in ages from ninety-one to two.
As a boy, Armagh learned quickly that in spite of his mother's talent for elemental magic as a Warrior Mage, and his eldest sister Morrigan's penchant for the study of the stars and Lunar magic, Armagh simply had no such talent. He was a good student and, to this day, appreciates a good book or scholarly discussion - he simply had no talent for magic. He felt most at home with a weapon in his hand, something which his father Sualtaim, a Barbarian, nurtured in him from a young age. At the age of fifty-eight Armagh would travel to the mainland of Kermoria, to Raven moiety's enclave, where he would reside for several months while training for induction into the Barbarian guild under Guildmistress T'Kiel. In spite of his guild's natural aversion to magic, Armagh simply accepts the fact that in order for his body and mind to become a finely-honed weapon (his ultimate goal), he must necessarily learn techniques which place his very body and mind at odds with magic. However, spurned on by his recent marriage to the Cleric Tayuril, he has undertaken to study and understand the rudiments of magical theory.
Armagh's family, like much of Snow Clan, believe that their blood is pure and rare, and disdain even other Elven clans, much less the inferior races. However, at base this conviction is one of Elven superiority - the belief that the Elven race is the superior race on Elanthia and the affairs of Elves should not be meddled in by humans or any other inferior race. This conviction led the Setanta sept to be one of only a few Snow Elven families to side with Ralel and the L'Karm.
