Syntax

  • SEARCH
Searches the room for hidden characters, creatures, pathways, and items.
  • SEARCH <DEAD CREATURE>
Searches a dead creature for loot. This uses the default behavior of LOOT; use that command for more control over which kinds of loot to seek.
  • SEARCH <ITEM>
Searches an item for any special feature or contents that respond to this command. The result depends on the item.
  • SEARCH <CHARACTER>
Searches a character for items taken from your grave or dropped when you died. It does not reveal the character's inventory.
  • SEARCH <CHARACTER> FOR <ITEM>
Attempts to recover a particular graverobbed item from a character.
  • SEARCH <GEM POUCH>
Finds the most valuable gem in an untied gem pouch. This requires a free hand.

Notes

  • A room search has roundtime and may reveal hidden characters, creatures, paths, or items. The message after roundtime varies when something is found or nearly found.
  • Searching a dead creature is equivalent to the default GOODS mode of LOOT.
  • Searching a character only attempts to recover items that belong to you under the Graverobbing system. Success is not guaranteed, and a free hand is required to receive a recovered item.
  • Item searches can have item-specific requirements and messaging.
