Originally released with Taisidon Mystery 457.
Recently found flourishing on Taisidon Island, deadman's lace grows in dense mats across damp stone or packed earth in areas rife with the undead or other aberrations such as ghosts. Despite its mosslike appearance, the plant contains no chlorophyll and does not rely upon sunlight. Instead, its fine rootlike structures draw nutrients through an association with a layer of fungi thriving on decaying organic matter, allowing it to flourish in near-total darkness and even indoors, when left undisturbed.
Common Description
A dense clump of matte, bone-white moss spreads in a tangled cushion of fine branching growth. Small dusty mauve flowers rise between the strands, their uneven petals mottled with cadaverous grey and terminating in finely frayed-looking edges.
