Born and raised in Elamiri, Maraisel is open about her heritage as a Mountain Elf, brought up with the education of a gently bred lady with her family having high-reaching aspirations of her one day marrying into a more prominent family within the Clan. Life had different plans for her, however, and she found herself making a home in the Crystal City instead, having offered her clerical assistance to the people of Ilithi throughout their struggles against Xerasyth and the adan'f threat, as well as aiding with triage during the fight against Lyras.
Appearance

She has elegant arched eyebrows, pointed ears and sparkling emerald eyes. Her black hair is very long and curly, and is worn pulled up in an elaborate four-stranded braid. She has fair skin and a slender figure.
She is wearing some sparkling diamond heart-shaped earrings, a dendritic choker of diamonds and Ilithi emeralds shaped like twining leaves, a form-fitting gown of emerald shadesatin overlaid with dendritic jeweled vines, a delicate spiraling crystal ring, a black steel mourning band inlaid with ivory lilies and a pair of dark green velvet slippers adorned with winter emeralds bound in gold.
About
Early Family History
Maraisel was born of the Issalde line and spent the youngest years of her life in Elamiri, growing up in a happy home with her mother and father until she was about eighteen years old. Although she doesn't discuss the events of what happened the day her parents were killed, it is known that she survived the incident which ended their lives and fell into the care of a half-sister she never knew she had, Ayrell Evyntine. Unsure of whether the danger that befell their family would return, they fled to Zoluren where they struggled to make ends meet, remaining homeless for several years until Ayrell was able to earn enough money through her work with the Warrior Mage guild to acquire a place for them to stay. Considering themselves the only family they had left, Ayrell adopted Maraisel to share the last name of Evyntine, at which time they decided to stop referring to each other as half-sisters and to simply be sisters. Young and inexperienced, Maraisel became infatuated with a man by the name of Ralaec with whom she believed herself to be in love and joyfully accepted his offer of marriage. It didn't take long for Maraisel to realize her mistake, the relationship growing rocky within the first few months, and only continued to get worse. Much like the incident which stole the lives of her parents, Maraisel also avoids speaking openly about her time with Ralaec, admitting only that the marriage eventually ended in divorce, despite powerful objections from Ralaec. Her first experience with love, however, was not enough to frighten her away from the man she believed to be the other half of her soul, an aspiring Paladin by the name of Rehlys. As with most aspects of her past, she maintains her secrets of what occurred, admitting only that the marriage was not meant to be, blaming it on what she was quickly becoming to believe was some kind of curse which ended in Rehlys's death on the day they were to be wed. At the time of Rehlys's untimely demise, Maraisel had only recently become aware of the fact that she was with child, giving birth to a daughter, Sivanya Issalde, a few months later. Due to undisclosed reasons involving Sivanya's safety, Maraisel was forced to leave Sivanya with a surrogate family to see to her upbringing, though she made sure to visit regularly so as to still be a part of her daughter's childhood.
Later Family History
Convinced that she would never find happiness after the death of her beloved Rehlys, and having to give up the care of her daughter, Maraisel resigned herself to live life alone, swearing off love, and bearing a band of mourning in Rehlys's name to keep his memory alive. Over time, she became friends with a trader by the name of Cirdaen who shared her feelings on relationships and the two decided to marry as a matter of mere companionship and convenience. After only a few years, however, their friendship grew distant with Cirdaen being away from home more than he was present until eventually he ceased returning home altogether. Upon the severing of the bond with Cirdaen, Maraisel chose to reclaim the family surname of her birth, once again assuming the name of Maraisel Issalde. To this day, she still wears the band of mourning for Rehlys.
Known Family Members
Other than her daughter, Sivanya Issalde, Maraisel is known to have one half-sister, Ayrell Evyntine, a brother-in-law, Ezerak Vershir, two nieces, Asilyia Evyntine and Sayara Evyntine-Vershir, a nephew, Ineyl Evyntine-Vershir, and a cousin through her paternal line, Aerivyn Eiryse-Lyssae.
Personality
Maraisel's personality is somewhat split, tending more toward that of outgoing and fairly flirtatious, though she does have occasion where she becomes more solemn and introverted. What her personality is at any given point depends heavily on her emotional state, if she is sober and suffering from the pain of her past, or if she has had any number of drinks to boost her spirits to the party girl she is known to be to most of those around her. She enjoys a good drinking game, or a daring game of dice, and has been known to play hostess at parties in which drinking and dice have led to countless memories that many of her guests have never and likely will never live down.
Gem of Choice
Although Maraisel does not consider herself a collector of fine gems and fabrics, she admits to having acquired a love for emeralds over the years, preferring their varying green hues for her choice in jewelry and clothing to match the color of her eyes and complementing the dark tone of her hair. She has no preference as to which emerald is her favorite, though she tends to lean toward the rarer varieties, grateful for the change in her financial circumstances in her adulthood, compared to her youth, that allows her to add an occasional new emerald to her modest collection from time to time.
Religion
In the wake of her parents' deaths and that of her beloved Rehlys, Maraisel joined the ranks of the clerics with a broken heart and a strong desire to learn how to fight in hopes that she could protect what few loved ones she still had left in her life. Fueled by a deep-seated drive to seek justice for those lost to her, she found herself drawn to the Immortal Phelim, seeking solace in the idea of rightful vengeance, believing her quest for retribution to be one worthy of his attention. Due to her playful and sometimes devious nature, however, it is commonly believed that Maraisel follows the Immortal Idon, and she has never confirmed nor denied whether there is any truth to this as well.
