You say, "Okay, I think we can probably get started."

You smile.

You say, "Thank you all for coming. We've got a few visions to go over this evening. A bit heavy on the fire, this time around."

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

Tylanni quietly says, "Fire huh."

You say, "Let's see, to start..."

You say, "I found myself walking along a blasted plain, a field of ash and blasted rock. The remains of burnt trees jutted through the cooled stone, little more than jagged pillars of charcoal. The sun burned high in the sky, the air sulfurous and dry. As I walked along the scattered boulders and carefully picked me way over winding crevices, the ground trembled, and I steeled myself for a tremor."

You say, "A dull red glow flared from a nearby valley, and suddenly, a massive bull thundered upward with a mighty leap. Its man shed embers and the surrounding air shimmered and crackled with heat. The bull locked eyes with me, and lowered a pair of burning horns as it appraised me for a short moment."

You say, "With a sharp exhalation of steam from its nostrils, the bull charged, and the vision faded."

Ezerak says, "Goodness, as if the storm bulls weren't bad enough."

You say, "There's certainly various things a bull could represent... but since storm bulls are a thing, I'm somewhat inclined to think this might be literal."

Ezerak chuckles.

Navesi nods.

Navesi says, "Another variant, perhaps? I see."

You say, "Apparently a bit dangerous to their surroundings, too."

Dantia grins at Madigan.

Ezerak says, "Reminds me of the areas near the Fists."

You nod to Ezerak.

You say, "It could be that they are just suited to that environment, not a cause of it."

Darkewolff smiles.

Etasia smiles, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

You say, "My thought would be that these creatures are around somewhere, and may be discovered at some point in the relatively near future."

Ezerak nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Navesi nods to you.

Etasia smiles at you, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

You say, "They seem... aggressive, but I don't think storm bulls are known for their pleasing personalities, either."

Tylanni says, "I've been spending a lot of time with them, they are not friendly in any sort of way."

Tylanni chuckles.

You grin.

Sozinho asks, "Lava bulls, is it?"

You say to Sozinho, "Could be! I suppose whoever discovers them will probably try to put a name to them, though we could try to get the jump on them."

You grin.

Ezerak chuckles.

Dantia chuckles at Madigan.

You hear the voice of Cryle say, "Don't stop at something so ordinary as lava, then..."

Ezerak asks, "Magma? Flame?"

You say, "Let's see... There's a couple more visions that involve fire. Let's first move onto one with fire that is... less unusual than the other."

You hear the voice of Cryle say, "Magnificent Conflaguration Bovines."

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

Sozinho nods.

Madigan grins.

Tylanni says, "What a mouthful."

You say, "I found myself sitting before a blank canvas, a palette of oil paints and a brush held in my hand. I looked around, the room vaguely familiar, though I couldn't place when I was last there. I was fairly sure the assignment was to recreate a memory, though further details remained elusive. So I began to paint, letting the brush lead and the colors sing. After what was either hours or minutes, I had created a rendition of an alpine forest, and took a step back for perspective."

You say, ""A reasonable impression," came a voice behind me, though when I whirled around in surprise, the room remained empty. "Superficial, but reasonable."

You say, "Confused, I looked back at the painting, and my eyes widened in disbelief -- crimson and orange strokes depicted a raging fire spreading across the forest, a thick smoke rising into a billowing ring. Before my eyes, an avalanche of snow tumbled down the mountain, speeding towards me, and I gasped as the vision faded."

Ezerak ponders.

You say, "There definitely seems to be something complicated going on there, though I'm not sure exactly what."

Vaddon ponders.

Ezerak says, "This one might be a bit less literal than the last."

Ezerak chuckles.

Vaddon jots down some notes.

You say, "The task to create a memory, the voice from nowhere, the sudden appearance of fire in the painting memory..."

Navesi gazes thoughtfully at you.

You say, "And then the avalanche, of course. Fire isn't the only disaster happening there."

You chuckle.

You say, "Then there's also the question of what about the painting was superficial. And was the comment the cause of the disasters or not."

Navesi says, "Well, we Bards are masters of memory, and it doesn't sound like any technique I've ever heard of. Still, disturbing to imagine a memory changing after the fact."

You ask, "There's also the possibility of it representing something blocked out of a memory. Perhaps I thought I was painting a forest, but painted the flames withotu realizing it. Something about the memory was far worse than I consciously recalled?"

Tirost nods to you.

Navesi says, "I feel like it must be related to the comment of superficiality."

Navesi asks, "Perhaps something about the rose-colored glasses we wear when remembering, sometimes?"

You say, "The comment about it being superficial could be a reference to details of the memory that didn't come to mind while painting, yes."

Nemy says, "Seems like they experimentin wif tha best way ta harness a memeorys."

Zfora says, "Not too long ago you had a vision involving a burning forest and an old woman with cataracts."

Tirost gazes thoughtfully at Nemy.

You say to Zfora, "She also seemed to possibly steal a memory in another vision."

You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Tirost says, "It sounds like whoever gave the assignment already knew what the painter had experienced."

Nemy asks, "Der was one bout writin a memory, one bouts tellin, ones bout paintin?"

Nemy peers quizzically at you.

You say, "A bit odd that she would hide herself in this vision if that's the case, but doesn't rule out a connection."

Zfora says, "A forest is representative of life, it's being burned down and then consumed."

You nod to Nemy.

You say to Nemy, "Telling her a story, and then seeming to lose it from my mind."

You say, "And since we're on the subject anyway... she appears in another recent vision as well."

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

Jaelia nods to you.

You say, "A sprawling battlefield raged across a blasted plain, armies riding beasts with split faces and branching antlers cutting into one another, the ground churned to a bloody mud. A general pointed across the land and howled a command, and a loud ka-thunk shook the ground as a splintering crevice zig-zagged forward, swallowing friend and foe into abyssal depths."

Ezustrea nods to Ayrell.

You say, "Miles away, the other general raised his arms to the sky, eyes rolling back in his head as he chanted a wicked litany, and the sky began to shatter, raining javelins of vibrating crystal that exploded into kaleidoscopic flames, blasting and immolating all. The frontline barely moved, pointless advance meeting meaningless counter attack as corpses were stomped into a gory paste in the continued charge."

You say, "Walking unaffected and ignored through the carnage, the woman in a wide brimmed hat watched with cataract eyes, her face expressionless as she smoked cigarillo after cigarillo. The vision faded."

Ayrell smiles at Ezustrea.

You say, "A very... strange battle."

Ezerak nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

You say, "Some elemental sorcery at work, perhaps. And very unusual creatures."

You say, "This woman certainly seems to get around, and has gotten to some very strange places."

You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Navesi says, "Seems like a story from a different world."

You say, "It makes me wonder if she, whatever she is, might be able to travel to something like those other versions of the world that we saw with the Timekeepers."

Navesi nods.

Ezerak ponders.

Ezerak asks Navesi, "It's not some future version of you, is it?"

Ezerak chuckles.

You say, "That could also explain the ruined, overgrown Crossing in another vision, without it having to be quite far in the future."

Navesi blinks.

Tirost appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Navesi says, "It had better not be."

Madigan grins at Navesi.

Navesi says, "Definitely not my style of hat, and I don't smoke."

Dantia chuckles.

Navesi says, "It's terrible for the voice."

Ezerak nods in agreement.

You say, "I get the feeling she's looking for something, but I couldn't say what it is."

Etasia says, "There were once some type of weapons like that as was in this vision. Days of old, some crystal type thrown, i recall a friend tellin me of them."

Etasia says, "Sounds familiar and they were most deadly types of weapons."

Kintryn nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.

Etasia shrugs.

Vaddon says, "Of course, my thoughts are drawn twoards the General. Wonder if the General ties to the one from the visions earlier this year killed outside the gates of Shard by the child. An impending attack? But do recall where my mind is much of the time."

Vaddon grins.

Tirost says, "The cataracts speak of age and blindness, but she's powerful, unafraid, determined."

Madigan nods to Etasia.

Vaddon glances about with a blank look on his face.

Zfora says, "And yet she can't actually see."

You say, "It could be a possibility. We don't know exactly what these people are capable of, but it does seem to involve elemental magic, which is at least a potential link."

Madigan nods to Etasia.

You hear the voice of Cryle say, "Don't need eyes to see."

You say, "Cataracts can also be caused by trauma, and her face was scarred."

You say, "More precise details of her appearance have been a bit hard to hang onto."

Tylanni nods to you.

Vaddon casually observes the area.

You say, "Let's see... The next vision I have to mention doesn't have flames, exactly, but there is some lava. So I suppose the general theme continues."

You grin wryly.

You turn a page in your astronomer's journal.

You say, "A pair of lovers raced barefoot, hand in hand, through a forest, faces flushed with joy as they leapt along stream and stone, dancing between the trees. With each step, fresh flowers and thick moss exploded outward, dying just as rapidly moments later. The trees shed their leaves, withered and died, new saplings growing to take their place. The lovers sprinted across a steppe, the ground rumbling in their wake as rivulets of lava erupted from the earth and mountains grew from the cooling stone. The lovers laughed in delight, spinning one another beneath the stars, the constellations slowly tearing from their place in the heavens and drifting into distorted shapes that bore no meaning and remained unnamed. The two fell to their knees, embracing sweetly as a shattered ring of shadow speckled purple streaked across the sky. With a soft exhalation, they breathed their last, slowly turning to dust, and the wind scattered the pair across a barren landscape as the vision faded."

Vaddon shifts his weight.

You say, "There is... a lot happening there. Strange, but a bit... pretty."

You say, "And a bit sad."

Madigan says, "That is just....awful."

Madigan takes a sip of his coffee.

Madigan chuckles.

Madigan says, "Gads."

You say, "My first thought is that much of it has to do with things happening over a very long period of time, and the lovers being some entities that have been around for it. And perhaps perceive the passage of time at a different scale than mortals."

You say, "In which case, that shattered ring of shadow with the purple specks seems like it might be the part most relevant to our current time."

Tirost says, "It seems to me the lovers go on a journey of magic, perhaps as sorcerers or necromancers."

Ezerak asks, "Perhaps a depiction of The Two?"

Darkewolff writes something in his thin diary.

Tirost says, "They begin with Life magic, then elemental, then lunar."

Darkewolff turns the page of his thin diary.

Sozinho asks, "Who are The Two?"

You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Dantia nods to Madigan.

Ezerak says to Sozinho, "The first two Elves."

Sozinho nods to Ezerak.

Sozinho says, "Ah."

You say, "Life, elemental, lunar... and then perhaps necromancy, with the shadow and purple? It doesn't seem to scream holy to me, at least."

Sozinho says, "I wouldn't know much about that. Don't mind me."

Tirost nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.

Navesi says, "Could also be the One and the Void."

Navesi says, "But I note that these lovers are taking something that's already there and changing it, not creating anew."

Ezerak nods at Ayrell, obviously agreeing with her views.

Darkewolff smiles.

Ezerak whispers something to Ayrell.

Etasia smiles at Darkewolff, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Dantia nods to Ezustrea.

Ezustrea smiles at Dantia.

Ayrell whispers something to Ezerak.

You say, "Changing, but perhaps to some extent wiping a slate clean. Particular with the way the constellations struck me as being 'unnamed'."

Ezustrea grins at Dantia.

Tirost takes a sip of his ale.

Dantia laughs at Ezustrea.

Dantia curtsies to Ezustrea.

Jaelia asks, "So this could also be referencing our creation Mythologies as well?"

You say, "The concept of Names being rather important in matters related to the Plane of Probability."

Ezustrea giggles at Dantia.

You say, "Well... at the end of the vision, the landscape has become barren."

Navesi says, "One possible interpretation of this vision is that our entire universe will be altered beyond recognition."

You say to Navesi, "Hopefully not. But it certainly does seem to indicate something being changed."

Etasia nods in agreement.

Navesi nods.

You say, "Unless that ring of shadow does represent holy mana in some way that doesn't occur to me, it does seem to be interesting that there doesn't seem to be a strong symbol of holy mana, compared to other types."

Zfora says, "Quite the coincidence."

Jaelia takes off a void-black sanowret crystal.

Jaelia points at a void-black sanowret crystal she has.

Darkewolff writes something in his thin diary.

Jaelia says, "Holy Mana. I don't know if that helps or is a lack of help."

Ezustrea grins at Dantia.

Dantia nods to Madigan.

Dantia smiles at Ezustrea.

Tirost asks, "Could the shadow ring be some consequence or effect of lunar magic?"

You say, "The purple makes me think of sorcery, at least."

Madigan praises Ezerak.

Darkewolff writes something in his thin diary.

Madigan continues to praise Ezustrea.

Darkewolff turns the page of his thin diary.

Ezustrea grins at Madigan.

Dantia chuckles.

Etasia says to you, "Or the prophet types."

Etasia smiles at you, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Tirost says to you, "I'd not thought the shadow ring a symbol of Holy magic, but that orb hovering around her head..."

Tirost gestures at Jaelia.

Ezustrea shudders.

Darkewolff writes something in his thin diary.

You ponder.

Darkewolff turns the page of his thin diary.

Jaelia says, "That is the color theme of Firulf. I know it is strange with his pallette, but he works with Elemental Powers and is not the Darker Part. The Darker Part is Rainbows. Not everythign is as we interpret them with color."

Darkewolff writes something in his thin diary.

You say, "Purple being linked with sorcery also makes me think... it's possible that the ring, or perhaps the breaking of the ring, is related to them using life, elemental, and lunar mana together in a sorcerous fashion."

Zfora says, "It's another vision starting in a forest, a lush one by the sound of it, full of life, and ending in... not a forest."

Ezustrea giggles at Tylanni.

You say, "The last vision for this evening finally leaves behind fire, though the color red is still prominent."

You say, "Lying down, I felt cold sand beneath my back and heard the gentle hiss of the wind whipping grains against my form with a slight tickle. I smelled sweet sage and watched as Yavash rose above the horizon, revealing a small oasis nearby, still waters practically glowing red with the moon's reflection. Something caught my attention in the sky, and at the very edge of my visual perception I was able to make out movement in a patch of otherwise emptiness. It seemed to be spinning, barely outlined as if transparent, a single point too faint to be called light. I squinted, focusing my attention, but Yavash continued to climb and soon blotted out the phenomenon. I patiently waited for Yavash to pass, but before it did, the vision faded."

You say, "Seeing something odd in the sky, of course, might be more common than not in a vision."

You grin wryly.

You say, "Unfortunately, I don't have too many guesses at the moment as to what that small bit of movement might represent. Possibly there's something of relevance in a previous vision, though not that I've had immediately come to mind."

Tirost ponders.

Madigan takes a sip of his coffee.

Madigan says, "Just not much to run with on that vision."

Madigan shrugs.

You hear the voice of Cryle ask, "Refractive...?"

You say, "And it sounds like others are having trouble making too much of it at the moment, too."

You chuckle.

Madigan grins at you.

Jaelia grins at you.

Nemy asks, "Yavash bulls?"

Jaelia says, "We cannot expect you to perfectly interpret everything. You are mortal, after all. But thank you for all you do."

Ezerak says, "I cannot say that I would even recognize such a change in the night sky."

Madigan nods to Ezerak.

You say, "Might be worth spending a little time in the desert while Yavash is full, I suppose."

You stroke your beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Ezustrea eloquently asks, "Field trip?"

Darkewolff writes something in his thin diary.

You grin at Ezustrea.

Jaelia laughs!

You ask, "But for now, that is all I have to discuss in terms of visions. Does anyone have any questions, or additional things to bring up?"

Ezustrea raises her hand.

Ezustrea eloquently asks, "When are our permission slips due?"

Dantia grins.

Tirost chuckles.

Etasia grins at Ezustrea, her dimples flashing into view.

You chuckle.

Sozinho chuckles.

Navesi says, "You do not have permission."

Madigan says, "Thank you for diving into these things."

Nemy giggles at Navesi.

You say to Ezustrea, "I think we go with the honor system."

You grin.

Navesi smirks.

Jaelia beams at you! What a warm feeling!

Ezustrea grins at you.

You chuckle at Navesi.

Dantia grins at Madigan.

You exclaim, "Well, then. Thank you all for coming!"
