Description
The teardrinker appears to be little more than an ambulatory, fully open rose with slight humanoid limbs. Framed by petals, there are approximate facial features in its front-looking middle: oddly swollen cheeks and a perpetual grimace that bares conical pink teeth. This flowery fiend expels copious amounts of pollen with every peevish snort, a thin purple fog suffusing the air around it.

Recall
Teardrinkers are of Be'ort. When a ritually sanctified rose soaks up influences arising out of divine pique, sometimes it is given life and agency to bring misery upon mortalkind. Much like their creator, teardrinkers have been known to bear truly venomous grudges.
They are known to cast Benediction, Soul Sickness, and Harm Evil.
They are not known to carry loot in locked boxes.
Death
When receiving a killing blow, rather than simply dying the teardrinkers explode:
As if the wee teardrinker had been a thing of pressurized air, its fragile body decompresses explosively and spectacularly before your eyes! A hailstorm of remnants -- rose petals and pollen, black sap and crystal thorns -- erupts in all directions. The detonation knocks you flat to the ground, and the hand you raised in defense becomes filled with petals. (Leaves you with petals in hand, but having trouble finding the specific item from logs.)
Or:
As if the wee teardrinker had been a thing of pressurized air, its fragile body decompresses explosively and spectacularly before your eyes! A hailstorm of remnants -- rose petals and pollen, black sap and crystal thorns -- erupts in all directions. The detonation drenches you in sap, ruining your <worn item> with its stickiness! As the sap dries a little, it remarkably changes color.
History
First appeared during the leadup to Hollow Eve Festival 428.
