The letter is written in very precise handwriting, each line of text perfectly straight across the page. The writing is not elegant or fancy, but perhaps there is a beauty in the meticulousness of it all.

Commodore Khoheke Moglin,

Although I only heard second-hand of the incredible effort put forth by Paladins in powering the Holy Weapon, yourself among them, I assume you needed a good amount of time for recovery afterward. I hope you have been able to find a moments rest in the days since and have returned to your full strength.

I write to you today to inquire about Kauga's outstanding trial. You agreed to a stay of ceremonies until after the Assault to provide Kauga an opportunity to show that he was not blindly loyal to Srinoja. We saw the incredible actions he undertook, at great risk to his own life, to defeat a kraken that would have gravely threatened your fleet - and he did so with no hesitation. He then allowed himself to be calmly placed back in your care.

I continue to recommend that Kauga be released into your service, to join the crew aboard the Oshu'k'et or another ship as you see fit, and to be put to hard, physical labor. There, he could provide protection against other krakens (where there is one kraken, there are bound to be more) and teach others in your crew how to fight should the need arise, all while being under your direct supervision.

By executing Kauga, you do gain justice against a simpleton, but you also demonstrate to your crew that there is no reward in going to extraordinary lengths protect your ships and you lose a significant slice of knowledge and experience held by no other person. By allowing Kauga to live, you build loyalty with your crew, ensure a safer and more lucrative shipping trade far into the future, and you go down in history as the Commodore who conquered the krakens.

I eagerly await word on the date of Kauga's trial and hope that you will allow the public to attend.

Your ally forged in battle,
Carnage Darling Dantia
