Property talk:Uses symbol

I changed this from "page" to "string" because having redlinks anytime we actively display data from this property felt a bit silly (are we going to make entries for everyday symbols that get logged like castle, knight, tree, shoe, daffodil, etc?) --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 00:55, 30 June 2021 (CDT)
- Oh man, I tried (for what seemed like ages) to figure out how to remove redlinks from various projects and finally accepted that it was happening and I needed to accept it...:) I never even considered tinkering with the "type". Nice change!
- Out of curiosity, is there any way to force a link onto specific properties as needed? For example, I'm thinking of the BnE "Flower Types" template; we prob don't want links for 3/4 of the flowers (ex. daffodil) but maybe for some of the DR specific ones that have pages already going, or should have pages going, we would (ex. Zoluren ensha). Kythryn 22:15, 30 June 2021 (CDT)
- Not to my knowledge, but I assume the edge cases can just be looked up more manually (as you said, all the redlinks were a bit obnoxious). --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 22:22, 30 June 2021 (CDT)
- Actually, I guess someone could possibly manually link it alongside the symbol tag, ie: "[[uses symbol:Zoluren ensha blossom| ]][[Zoluren ensha blossom]]" would just show the second one. Those B&E tables need the Hollow Eve prize template treatment, too. --TEVESHSZAT (talk) 22:40, 30 June 2021 (CDT)
- That works (for the links, when wanted). Thanks!
- And I did create templates for the B&E pages, Template:BEFlowers, Template:BEWoods, etc. But, I ran out of verve after updating all the Kitchen loot items from the original tables to the template calls. It's on my to-do list to hit up the other rooms, but you know...life...:) Kythryn 23:54, 2 July 2021 (CDT)
