Approximately difficulty: white, smudgy

Appeared in the invasion around the time of the Chrysalis opening and the Akul'tiz arriving. Part of Akul'tiz invasions. Comes in various kinds: tentacled, swirly, black, shrike-winged, et cetera. Unknown if different types are of variable difficulty.

These can produced by Umbral Moths from the bodies of Tattooed Akul'tiz who are not killed by blessed weapons.

Description

The Akul'tiz ghost is little more than a many-limbed stick figure of seething mist, existing in the Plane of Abiding by dint of an unyielding vengeful will.

Recall

In the year 399 AV, a ragtag cult of Dergati gathered at a shadowy corner of Ker'Leor for a momentous if foolhardy ceremony in order to call down the attention of the dread goddess.  Unknowing or otherwise, these people became instruments in the creation of a mysterious chrysalis.  Their spirit energy poured into the thing, feeding it like mother's milk.  Over time, it gained sentience and seemed to thirst for knowledge, be it Gamgweth or spell patterns, which it gleaned from its many tenders.  What emerged years later was not one creature but a whole new race of them, never before seen on the face of Elanthia.  They called themselves the Akul'tiz.

Although all Akul'tiz are spiritually attuned to Dergati by birth, only the foremost among them are known to have direct communion with the goddess.  Gibberings from some of the creatures indicate that, following their collective birth from the chrysalis, they have made home of another subterranean grotto -- "the Akul'tiz Gardens" -- where they cultivate a myriad of mushroom kinds for their sustenance.

Messaging

Death: A smudgy Akul'tiz ghost is dispersed like a waft of unwanted smoke. (leaves no body)

A shrike-winged Akul'tiz ghost enunciates carefully and sardonically, "She will never forgive you for this. She doesn't forget. You will know no respite."

A shrike-winged Akul'tiz ghost screams in a perfect Human voice, "Betrayers! Ingrates! Treacherous worms!"

Special Attacks

Spirit Tendrils
Damages spirit health. Ranged?

Sample messaging:
A white Akul'tiz ghost gestures at you.
Spidery tendrils of icy blue light swirl outward from a white Akul'tiz ghost's palms, darting toward you.
The writhing tendrils strike you benignly. You feel an unsettling chill begin to cascade through your body as the lights billow into a sheaf of ghostly fog around you.

Claws of mist tear away from the amorphous cloud of fog, ripping into your spirit like an icy blade and carrying its energy away!

Spirit Axe Appear to be thrown weapons. Can lodge and damage spirit health until tended.

Loot

Sometimes they leave a shrike's eye sapphire behind when dying:
A black Akul'tiz ghost is dispersed like a waft of unwanted smoke, leaving behind a shrike's eye sapphire which glitters darkly for a moment.
