ornate green gold pocket compass on a gold fob | |
---|---|
Look: | Mimicking the appearance of an orlog, the compass has an openwork lid of green gold shaped to resemble a gear. The piece is strung upon a narrow gold snake chain, its bright hue providing a subtle contrast to the faintly greenish tint of the compass lid. Clearly visible through the openwork metal, the compass beneath is set with brown smoky topazes at the cardinal directions. |
