| The fate of the soul depends on how the Necromancer Descends. In most cases, it's safe to say that the soul is gone afterward.
What happens to the soul afterward is normally outside the ken of Necromancers, but it's presumed to be unpleasent. Since the soul is the seat of awareness for living creatures, this goes a long way to explaining why only power-hungry lunatics openly embrace the Descent when breathing is still an option. | |
