Actually to answer your question it isn't really either of the two per se. A Pr'raaho would be made of wood as it is representative of the circles of life. But which woods aren't necessarily critical to it being a Pr'raaho. Also the shop owner didn't sculpt it per se. There has been some discussion on this topic and some clarification needed. Prydaens do not life sculpt. This is a magical process of the elves to control and shape the growth of something. Prydaens on the other hand have rituals that certain persons can go through to make a request of the Three for an alteration in how something is or grows. Prydaens cannot force it to happen, nor can they guarantee the outcome. This is a large part of why deeds are needed to get a resultant Pr'raaho. They must be earned because they are gifts from the Three, requested by the craftsman.
