>>Is there any important lore about predictions that could be assumed to be generally known, but might not be obvious to players? For example, are there books (that ICly exist but are not accessible as part of the library system) that try to put together some rules of what certain elements of visions might mean?

Not really - sometimes a series of visions will be connected by thematic elements, but otherwise the experience is so varied it's hard to generalize.

The way I think of it (And this should be viewed as interpretation, not gospel) is that when a Moon Mage has visions (Either randomly or when seeking them) they're getting information the mind was not designed to process and so it tries to interpret this into something relocatable. This usually comes across as a visual experience but other senses are more rarely used. This helps explain why visions are so varied, sometimes they're extremely literal (Almost a form of remote viewing) and other times they're extremely metaphorical. In this same vein I view divination tools as a sort of GUI that sits between the prophet's mind and the raw information which is why the experiences are more uniform, controllable and powerful.

Portents and omens are another matter (and something that is used more in background lore than player mechanics).

>>I've also heard allusions to bad things potentially happening if a bunch of moon mages get together and are all probing the web of fate.

Group prediction has rarely ended well.

>>Are there any notes on who Lady Katzel is? I was looking at the Crystal Hand museum, and there's a reference there to her that seemed to assume the person looking at the panel had some idea of who she was.

A lot of the older areas are not written to current standards (Which is not to say they're not well written and often interesting, just that their style is vastly different). Tiv's is one of those areas. Go actually read the room texts in Crossing if you want to see more blatant examples.

As for Lady Katzel... I got nothing.
