Bowyering

Fletching is the term used to describe crafting your own bows and arrows. Once you've obtained more than 40 ranks in your bow skill of choice, and in your Mechanical Lore, the bows and arrows you'll make will usually be superior to anything purchasable from a store.

Your bow skill determines the quality of bow or arrow that you make, while your Mechanical Lore skill will keep you from making mistakes in crafting that would ruin the bow or arrow.

Note: Some say that if you make a mistake in crafting, it would be best to throw the bow or arrow away and start again. This is only true if you're looking for a weapon to use. If you're just crafting to gain experience, then it would be wise to continue on that same item.
