Bard Recall: The fiddle is a simpler version of the stringed violin, often crafted in fanciful shapes and sizes depending upon what region it is found. It has a flat back and short, unfretted neck that supports a set of four strings secured at one end by an elaborate pegbox. Using a bow, this instrument may be either held against the shoulder or in the lap to be played.
