Its name meaning "sea gold" in Gamgweth, selatila is a ruddy golden metal alloyed in the churning undersea lava flows around Taisidon. Prone to blotchiness, its variegated coloration ranges from rosy gold to rusty umber. Locals consider it a fortuitous omen to stumble upon one of the sea-polished shards of selatila that sometimes wash up on the island's beaches.
