This mineral displays a black to transparent base layered with spectral hues, the iridescence glimmering with rainbows when turned under direct light. Unearthly blues and eerie greens dominate the stones like the aurora in a clear sky, melding with fiery oranges and reds in more expensive examples. While it can rarely form perfect prisms, spectrolite generally requires polishing to capture the play of light, often in the form of cabochons.

Must be provided for alterations.
