User talk:Farman/spelltemplate
how about we go with the "leave blank" style for this, and simplify it (so case on YES doesn't matter)
targetted=yes (or blank/missing) scrollonly=yes (or blank/missing) held=yes (or blank/missing)
would imo make the template easier to "use". --Callek 01:37, 2 May 2007 (CDT)
(p.s. no need to migrate this talk page if you MOVE this page)
- There you go snooping on my sandboxes again :P
- As you might tell, I'm very much a beginner in wiki syntax so I'm not familiar with "leave blank". I've spent all night looking up CSS syntax and ParserFunctions, and I'm done looking at my computer screen tonight ;)
- The way the #ifeq's are set up, if the values for scroll, held, or target are anything but yes, it will interpret as a 'no', and the icon won't appear (nor category be set). Truthfully, I don't think it's such a big deal since I think anyone able to use the template in the first place will be able to fix a caps error if they do it wrong. If this is an easy thing to adjust, then by all means go ahead and do so. It'll give me an opportunity to learn what you're talking about. --Farman 03:22, 2 May 2007 (CDT)
Ready for release?
OK I think it's ready. I have applied the new template to the Regenerate spell as an example.
The big outstanding issue I have with it is the color of the title bar, which I was forced into because of the background color of the SIMU held, scroll, and target icons. When I release this into the wild I will solicit new art on the project page with an alpha background so we can pick a better color, or go back to the wikitable default.
It will be a major undertaking to update all the spells and enchantes (150-200 pages, roughly?) to fit this template so that's another big thing to think about.
Any ideas on how to improve it? Anything you hate/love about it? --Farman 04:50, 2 May 2007 (CDT)
