Theurgy is the newest incarnation of the planned Holy Lore / Theology / Theosophy; it encompasses the pertinent Clerical systems much more appropriately.

In a nutshell, Theurgy is the skill with which Clerics tap into the knowledge and power of the gods. It is also the explanation for why even the most devout Cleric is never able to call down the full power of his gods: he is bound by his own skill and mortality. It is separate from magic, except in rare cases where magic and divine intervention truly mix (eg: Resurrection).

>> I'm assuming this is what will power our communes going forward and will be learned by doing rituals and gaining devotion etc.

Correct. We will go over each commune to determine how Theurgy should affect it. At the very least, it will be replacing circle in the duration calculations.

I'm not sure if the long-standing plans for training this skill was ever posted, but basically, communes would award large chunks of experience while devotional rituals would provide a smaller stream. Obviously, the goal is to put communes and rituals, as well as devotion management, back into the Clerics' daily life.

>>So any chance this can replace our Teaching req? Cause that'd be AWESOME.

Most likely.
