The real world version recade is a combination axe and club which evolved to symbolize the king in some parts of west Africa.[1]
In DragonRealms, while the original version seems to have been an axe-like weapon, due to it's high slice, impact and suitability, the most recent forged versions has significant piercing damage, and there exists a serrated version, which implies a sword-like blade.
