Game Helpfile

The Premium bonus lines appear for Premium characters.

DAYDREAM <person|critter|item> {EVIL|GOOD}
Premium Bonus: Type DAYDREAM by itself when you wish to be AFK.
-- This will let those who LOOK at you know that you are AFK.

Additional Messaging

The ordinary observer messages above describe a visible actor. Hiding or invisibility suppresses most of these messages.

Bare DAYDREAM (non-Premium)
You see: You try to lose yourself in a daydream, but feel too distracted.
Others see: <Name>'s face takes on a dreamy look for only a moment.

GOOD directed at a friendly creature or NPC produces:

You see: You daydream about <creature>, thinking happy thoughts.
Others see: <Name> sighs happily as <he/she> gazes dreamily at <creature>.

GOOD directed at a dead monster produces a sad daydream about the life it might have lived. If that dead monster is undead, it instead produces a daydream about its life before it was cursed with unlife. In either case, others see <Name> give the dead creature a sad, dreamy look.

EVIL directed at a dead or undead creature produces a daydream about it serving as your undead minion. Others see <Name> stare at the dead creature with a morbid gleam in <his/her> eye.

EVIL directed at a dead person produces a daydream that only partially notices the person's death. The target receives a special message, while observers see the actor give the target's body an uncaring, dreamy look.

Premium Daydream State

While a Premium player is in the daydream state, looking at that player displays:

You notice a glassy look in <player>'s eyes, and realize that <he/she> is in a daydream -- <he/she> probably isn't even aware you're here.

Attempting to look at yourself while daydreaming displays:

That's kinda like trying to see what you look like asleep, isn't it?

Attempting another action while daydreaming can display:

You gaze about sleepily, still lost in your daydream...

Entering DAYDREAM again ends the state.

Restrictions

  • The command cannot be used while in combat: You're unable to lose yourself in a daydream while in combat.
  • A dead character instead sees: You daydream about being alive.
  • It cannot be used in a silenced location: You shouldn't do that here.
