Report on this subject for end of year 389. Information was obtained through agent observation and through questioning those who once knew her or know her now. Some coercion was necessary, mostly bribes. Names of contributors will be kept in a separate document, for even those willing to speak of her were adamant that she never know. |

She was born healthy to common parents in Riverhaven and has no siblings. She was by all accounts a normal child; she was happy, curious, outgoing, had an excellent relationship with her parents and excelled as a student. In the spring of 381 Sebastienne fled south to the Crossing with no prior warning, taking only clothing and a few personal possessions. Information on this time of her life is lacking. How she sustained herself is unknown. We also don't know how she gained entry to the Crossing's organized criminal element. She has made occasional mention of being taken in by a female elf named Sinone, who Sebastienne describes as her mentor. Early Life
She was born healthy to common parents in Riverhaven and has no siblings. She was by all accounts a normal child; she was happy, curious, outgoing, had an excellent relationship with her parents and excelled as a student. She had a healthy interest in botany and was fond of the swamps surrounding Riverhaven. There are no notable events from her childhood. No loss, accident, or disappointment exists to possibly explain why she has become what she is.
Flight from Riverhaven
In the spring of 381 Sebastienne fled south to the Crossing with no prior warning, taking only clothing and a few personal possessions. Her parents disappeared the same night; bodies have never been found, and there was no evidence of foul play at the home. Sebastienne, however, has remarked on more than one occasion that her parents are dead. We were unable to obtain any information from Riverhaven authorities.
Emergence
Information on this time of her life is lacking. How she sustained herself is unknown. We also don't know how she gained entry to the Crossing's organized criminal element. We know only that she reappeared with command of a ship, high quality clothing, armor and weapons, and that she possessed a completely different personality than the girl that was, by all reports from Riverhaven, perfectly normal. She has made occasional mention of being taken in by a female elf named Sinone, who Sebastienne describes as her mentor. Efforts to discover information about this person have been fruitless, but are still ongoing. During this time she wore clothing with the Eye of Dergati and the Shriike on it, but has abandoned these now and seems to have no particular religious interest. The reason for the apparent abandonment of her faith is unknown at this time
Arrest and Imprisonment
In early 389, in a move many called reckless, Sebastienne publicly declared that she would be auctioning off goods stolen from various victims over the previous months. She also claimed that 50% of the money earned would be donated to the Zoluren orphanage fund. To further spread word of the auction and to gain access to the Crossing Trader's auction hall she enlisted the aid of a trader named Martyka. The declaration drew the interest of many and polarized opinions formed. Some thought the move a show of generosity by Sebastienne, others thought it a stunt to draw more bidders and doubted if she would even make good on her promise to the orphans.
Among those who took notice were Brigadier General Zukir and Ansprahv. It is assumed, though not confirmed, that the Crossing thieves also took notice. Sebastienne and Martyka were arrested at the start of the auction. Martyka was soon released; Sebastienne was imprisoned and held for over a week before being deported to the islands. Rumors of a private and somewhat amiable meeting with Prince Vorclaf are unconfirmed.
Recent Activities
After months in seclusion on M'Riss, she has returned to the Crossing as of late 389. She has not committed any high-profile crimes of late, but its unknown just how much of her activities remain clandestine.
Sebastienne carries one of Veyne's rings but does not wear it publicly. Of the ring, she has said, "I do not wear the ring because I have no spoken with Veyne personally and alone yet. I would be quite a fool to commit to someone's cause without getting it from the man himself, would I not? Until then I carry it close to the heart." Sebastienne has expressed criticism over the choice to give rings to certain people, believing them unworthy. She also claims to have "an amiable relationship with a young dragon priest" who shares things with her.
Personality
Sebastienne, at least on the surface, gives little regard to subtlety. While we have never heard her openly admit to being a thief, she makes no attempt to hide it and her affiliation is now fairly well known. She also speaks openly about past crimes.
In her interactions with others, it has been observed that she tends to adopt a friendly manner in both words and general demeanor, albeit tempered with a reserved formality. Contrary to some of the more damning citizen reports that we have gathered, she seems willing to speak to anyone, so long as they maintain civility in the interaction. Despite this outward friendliness, our agents have noted that she is quick to anger and will dismiss anyone she deems weak or foolish. The displays of her temper, both those directly obvserved and those reported by the Crossing populous, have nearly all cumulated in some form of violence. All observations point to her having some form of personal philosophy that guides her actions.
Goals and Motivations
Entirely unknown at this time. She appears to have a more-than-passing interest in every major power. Rumors of her hiring herself out as an agent persist, with at least one incident confirmed. Her end goal however remains a mystery. What motivates her can likely be traced back to whatever caused her to flee Riverhaven as a teen, but is also unknown.
