Ritual Foci

There is no guarantee that all merchants who work on ritual foci will provide all of these services.

Base Items

Ritual foci can be created from items that have no special verbs, scripts, or enchantments.

Ritual foci can be wearable, but you must hold them while activating them.

Spell Compatibility

Spellbook-based ritual foci do not require any special feats to use.

Universal and realm-based ritual foci require the Improvised Rituals feat. Options:

  • holy
  • life
  • elemental
  • lunar
  • universal

Activation Roundtime

Activation roundtime defaults to 20 seconds and can be reduced down to 10 seconds.

Invoke Messaging

Invoke messages can be up to 500 characters (including punctuation and spaces).

There will be a pair of user (second person) and observer (third person) messages. We can use tokens for names and pronouns.

The messaging should make for an item the player is holding and should be agnostic to the surroundings. (We don’t know whether the user will be indoors, outdoors, what time it will be, etc.)

The messaging should focus on physical details that would be visible to a casual observer. Do not include any information about the item’s history or provenance. Do not describe how people would react.

TM Foci

Note: while Sigzil will let you choose tuning options when creating a new TM focus from scratch, he will not change tier, grade, or tuning options on existing TM foci.

There is no guarantee that all merchants who work on TM foci will provide all of these services.

Base Items

TM foci cannot be wearable, and they cannot be weapons or armor. They can’t have any other scripts, enchantments, or special functionality.

Realm

Realm is purely cosmetic. Options:

  • elemental
  • lunar
  • arcane
