Gingerpine is the result of an easy, but tedious technique applied to white pine lumber. Seemingly chaotic slashes span the piece of wood and are skillfully stained a spectrum of cinnamon-red, clove-brown, and honey-gold to resemble a sepia-toned carpet of evergreen needles. The heavily textured pieces are then layered and smoothed with clear lacquer for a polished finish while preserving depth and warmth, giving each piece a uniquely organic appearance. This decorative process is typically only used on small pieces such as inlays, trinket boxes, bag clasps, buttons, or handles. It is not appropriate for big projects such as shaped weapons or the main component in furniture.

Heavily lacquered white pine displays a warm kaleidoscope of cinnamon-red, clove-brown, and honey-gold resembling a ginger-hued carpet of fallen conifer needles.
