The attempt to stand may fail if one is heavily encumbered, exhausted, significantly off balance or gravely wounded. A failed attempt results in a short [[Roundtime|roundtime]]. The difficulty of the attempt is derived from the starting position, e.g. standing from a prone position is harder than standing from a kneeling position. Attempting to {{com|sit}} or {{com|kneel}} before standing can help avoid failing and incurring the roundtime.
