I am Stomper Rhadyn GryphonHyt, Bearded Lion of Elanthia
I was born on the 10th day of the 5th month of Uthmor the Giant in the year of the Emerald Dolphin, 320 years after the victory of Lanival the Redeemer
Katjia and I affirmed our vows before the gods in the 9th month of Dolefaren the Brigantine (ship) in the year of the Silver Unicorn, 413. She wears my family heirloom, an antique Dwarven silver ring encrusted with brilliant diamonds and set with a magnificent shimmering sapphire, as her wedding ring.
As a Dwarf I follow the teachings of Kertigen and as a Barbarian follow in the path of Kuniyo.
I am an avid collector of rare Dwarven items. Some of my prized possessions include many weapons such as my Dwarven warsword, armor like my Dwarven plate armor, clothing such as my Dwarven battle cloak, and containers like my Dwarven utility belt. My vault overflows with other old and rare non-Dwarf related items horded for my own amusement.
Appearance
I have mismatched eyes, one silver and the other gold
My grey hair is long and thick, and is worn untamed
I have copper skin
My face and torso are painted with dragons soaring over worn mountain ranges in fresh gold warpaint.
I have a glossy mustache that glides over my upper lip before twining into a lush, belly-sweeping beard. The beard is tamed into several braids banded with transparent icesteel rings, the central plait graced with a magnificent molten-core diamond
My forearm has a tattoo of a kertig boulder carved with the words, "DWARVES ROCK".
Stretching between my shoulders are the wings of a splendid firebird, each plume scared into the flesh to create an intricate pattern. The feathers blend downward into the shape of flames as if spreading hungrily down my back. Where the marks come back together they form the words "Blood for Fire" in irregular angry red lines.

History
Spring. The season of love, hope, and new beginnings. And yet not so for me. I sit alone my cloak wrapped around me as the cold unfeeling stone I lean against presses into my back. Why am I here? How did I get here?
Pulling out the journal and quill from my pack I begin to write. I’ve done this before but now the words flow from my mind onto the page in a symbiotic wave of emotion, thoughts, and actions. This is my story.
My father, Hyt, was raised in the Biter Clan. He used to tell me of his time spent traveling through the mountains as a paergrimis always getting into trouble, but my favorite stories are always about my mother. I don’t know much about her even with his tellings as she was never a part of my story in presence but always in mind. I don’t even know her name.
My mother hailed from the Rose Clan. This is why I don’t know her. It was forbidden for clanswomen to marry or cavort with other clans, especially males. My father met her one day as a youngster while out adventuring. It must have been love at first sight because she forsook her own clan to be with him. That lasted just long enough for me to be born because she was quickly whisked away into seclusion shortly thereafter. My father searched for her but quickly discovered that rearing a dwarfling made his efforts all the more difficult.
Taking his pain, he traveled to Hibarnhvidar, gave up his clan and joined the Paladin guild to keep his mind busy. At this he excelled. He embraced his new life with a new name, Svor. Svor raised me to honor and cherish my Dwarven heritage and the ways of the Paladin. When I was only a kakhal he sat me down to prepare me for my journey to adulthood.
Outfitting me with his best Dwarven plate armor, battle cloak, and warsword he sent me east. “Go, find your adventure for the blood of the Biter courses through your veins.” And so I set off thinking I would never be back but always hoping.
I crossed the Himineldar Shel, going east and north until I made my way into Zoluren. There I came to The Crossing. Oh, the city. Bustling with people and races I’d never even heard of. How could I ever find my way? Then I saw a light. It was a fire burning outside of a tall structure. I entered and found myself in the Paladin guild. Lady Verika welcomed me to her domain and we talked about my father’s experiences in the guild until she convinced me to join.
Magic? What was this new thing. I had not seen my father use it even once. My conception of who my father truly was was all wrong. How could he have hidden this from me? I needed time to think.
I walked out the door fully expecting to return after clearing my head. I’m not a mage. I’ve been raised to rely only on my strength and wit since I was wee. How can I rely on magic? Is it a crutch? These and many other thoughts went through my head as I wandered the streets alone in my mind. I stopped, closed my eyes, and then I saw another light. This time the light came from inside me. What is this light? I opened my eyes and there I stood in the Champions Square. A door stood slightly ajar in front of me so I went in.
There sat who I know now to be Agonar. He too welcomed me as Lady Verika had before. We spoke of my troubled soul and he began to speak of the ways of the Barbarian. This sounded like who I really was inside. I decided then and there to join the guild. Agonar, whom I trusted (this was before his betrayal of me and my other guild members to the evil Callava and the S’lai assassins), guided me in the ways of my guild.
Looking up from my writing I look across and think I can see Hibarnhvidar. No, it’s not visible but in my mind it is. I dip my quill and set ink to parchment to finish this chapter of my story.
I’ve traveled back to Forfedhdar, and even now own the granite estate at the top of Midhik Haalm where my father raised me. I never found him again but many say he left one day in search of his true love never to return. I will never know.
The pain of my losses focused my will to travel the Realms. Always hunting. Always searching. Always alone. Now I battle to cull the beasts of the wild and invaders of civilization and train new recruits up in the ways of the barbarian.
As I close the journal and place it and my ink and quill back into my pack I don’t feel quite so lost. I have made it through life’s trials. Spring feels like the season of hope again. Thinking back over the past 80 years since my father sent me off with just his dearest warrior’s possessions I feel warm inside. For I know that I am never alone. I am Rhadyn the Dwarb.
