During the Gorbesh war, the original Crossing temple was destroyed. After the destruction, a temporary High Altar was placed where the old temple had stood, however it was surrounded with rubble and was no longer a meeting place for the citizens. After the Gorbesh armies were driven from Kremoria, it was decided to re-build the temple. A series of events over the following months allowed players to "help" with the re-building, the housing area of Temple Hill out the Crossing west gate has a number of references to that process. Once the new temple was finished, a number of merchants came from across the lands and set up shops around the new Temple grounds.
