Warrior's Harness

It's not clear if this harness is magical or simply the work of a master, but all Barbarians who have tested it agree that it will! hold almost any weapon of any size and that weapons stored within remain in better repair than usual.

Study

Looking over the harness's construction, you marvel at how perfectly it has been created for combat and those who make combat their profession. You feel an affinity for the piece, as if it was designed for you, or you for it. You sense that a warrior who uses a harness this solidly made could not help but take slightly better care of his weapons, finding them in generally better repair than if they were stored in some other container. Looking at your harness, you feel certain that you could:

RUB - to form a special bond with the item.
PUT - weapons inside it.
REPAIR - to slightly repair weapons inside it.
GET - to get weapons from inside it.
TUG - to tug its straps.
ADJUST - to adjust how it fits over your shoulder.
PAT - to prepare to draw out a weapon.

Looking at this item, your struck by the idea that it's really designed for Barbarians and will almost certainly not function properly in other hands.

Evoke

You move heedlessly through the forest, bellowing a challenge to all who might hear to try to best you in battle. Suddenly, the beast is on you, a boar so huge that its size defies description. The creature wallops you with massive force, though you manage to stop its tusks from gutting you -- barely.

You are on your back. The creature's tusk moves toward your unprotected throat, the moment slowing and elongating in your mind -- a little eternity. You claw desperately at your weapon harness.

Your swords are in your hands, though you don't recall grasping them. The boar's head is all there is -- your body reacts instinctively. With all the force you can muster, you shove one sword up and in, feeling the hot blood splattering, the creature's weight crushing you.

You hear uproarious laughter, and slowly realize it to be coming from the boar. A fierce, wild voice fills your mind, congratulating you on your form, your fury, your prowess with your blades. The avatar of Everlid stands once more and, as the god-creature leaves you, a searing heat erupts within your chest, bringing you to your knees.

The brand is fresh, tender -- created with such intensity as to sear not only your flesh, but also to have marked your harness in kind, Inner Fire made visible for all to see.

With a start, you find yourself drawn back to the reality of the here and now. The pain from the brand is still so intense that you feel it in your own flesh, but when you look down, all is as it was before.
