Heyo! I forgot to mention an important detail in my original post. Due to limitations in the current combat code, if parry would not have normally been granted experience under the old system, it will not grant experience for the weapon skill itself, even if these new tweaks grant parry experience. There is no easy way around this right now, but that should be resolved when the full rewrite is finished.
