  Lanita's mother is unknown to her. The story is that during the later years of the migration, the pack was crumbling and her mother feared to trust the family and decided not to chance anything. Things were changing far too much for her to trust the 'old ways'. Fearing her baby's life(Lanita's birth Rakash name is unknown), she wandered some ways off into a human's barn. The next morning an Elothean Trader accidentally picked up the bundle containing the child with her wares and didn't discover the truth until later. Lanita's mother tried to recover her but the Trader sped off before giving her a chance. The trader later on gave the child to an Elven Empath to care for her. Lanita still does not know anything about her mother to this day.
  Knowing Rakash and Becoming an Empath.

  Lanita, growing up with her adoptive family, did not know other Rakash for a long time. Nobody explained to her what were the changes to her body and so she was ashamed of it and the confusion for a long time. This quietly went on until she stumbled across a dying man. At the time she was being rebelious in a way and trying out other guilds and refusing the call to the Healer's teachings so she could do very little and properly. When the full Katamba came she discovered he was like her and through the language barrier of her knowing only Common and he only knowing Rakash, he explained to her that they are both Rakash, that she should be happy. The pain of the infection took him after the second full Katamba leaving her with raging curiosity and nobody to now answer them. For a while she accepted that she wasn't the only one but still did not appreciate and enjoy Moonskin and being Rakash as any Rakash should. She next met Malykai who was shocked at her lack of knowledge and pride for who she was. Through him she learned to truly love the carnal joy of being Rakash. To truly feel your Moonskin and to howl unrestrained calls to her kind. His greatest gift to her, to learn to accept, love herself and then him. Since then, she has been making strong efforts to give any that would happen to be in a situation like her's a better chance at learning. To give them what she did not.
