The Story of Khearkrash(KEER-krash)
Its been there as long as you remember. ~*clink*~
Every night in the orphanage you hear their screams. Not those of Lyras's victims, you are too young for that, but of those who survived, your parents, taken from you by a group of Robed and heavily armored men in the night.
~*clink*~
They didnt kill you though. One of the more physically imposing of the company didnt find it just. "To put down a child before he can choose his own path is wrong." They sent you to Ratha instead.
Far away from them, that's how much they care about you.
~*Clink*~
You remember the first time you heard it at the orphanage. "Dog" the little elf child called you, "filthy, dirty, dog" he mocked, doing a poor child's imitation of an actual dog.
Thats what they called you parents, Dog, Cur, Hound
"No," you say quietly to yourself.
Thats what they called them before they killed them
"No what, dog?" the elf asks you.
"No!", you repeat louder.
~*Clink*~
"A proper education" wasnt exactly something afforded to you. Spending your entire childhood at the orphanage meant that you had to guide your own studies. You spent many nights studying astronomy, anatomy, the history of your people (when available), reading and writing.
You learned in other ways as well, things the Reshal houses were more than willing to teach the lower class.
Ahead at the docks, you see two S'kra.
That man has power, see how he uses it?
"He uses it to make sure others dont gain any," you quietly respond.
That one has money, how does HE use it
"To buy more for hiself while those he leads starve"
You stare through the two S'kra, waiting for the voice to continue narrating.
When it does not, you snap out of it and notice one of the S'kra is trying to say something to you.
"I said," he pontificates, "Quit staring at me dog!"
You quickly turn to leave.
"One more week Khear, one more week then you will be 16 and free to leave", you mutter under your breath.
~*Clink*~
You see sprawled before you the city of Crossing, this is the first real place youve been since leaving Ratha.
It smells here
"Quiet" you say nearly silently to yourself.
Remember how much they complained of the smell of your parents?
"Hush, they were scared and knew no better, my parents were outsiders." you utter under your breath.
They knew better, and they were most definitely scared
"I know" you say, forgetting to stifle your volume.
"Whats that, dog?" you hear an ornately dressed guard say.
His partner gives him a sharp elbow to the ribs.
"She might hear you, do you want to be scrubbing chamber pots again" he says to his partner.
The conversation catches your attention, and you glance in the general direction of the guards, seeing behind them the famed Paladin's Guild.
Yes, go, this will do nicely

Appearance
Softskin
You are Vindicator Khearkrash NoRoken'Vilks, Protector of the Innocent of Elanthia, a Rakash Paladin. You have a bestial face, cold eyes, one crystal blue and one crystal green and a classical nose. Your silver hair is very long and wavy with both sides shaved at the temple, and is worn arranged in tight dreadlocks. You have pearlescent skin and a well-defined build. You are one who towers among others for a Rakash. You have a pair of smooth glitvire-framed goggles resting across the bridge of your nose. Tinted the palest shade of green, cable chains wrap around the protruding crystal lenses before overlaying the adjustable diamond-hide straps. Your right wrist has a tattoo of a kneeling Rakash thrusting a sword skyward as he is encircled by a ring of spectral apparitions.
You are wearing a verdant diamond-hide fedora adorned with an absinthe emerald cameo, a thick orichalcum barleycorn chain supporting a carved absinthe emerald pendant, a double-breasted russet zibeline jacket with baroque absinthe emerald buttons, a dark thornweave waistcoat with a lined jaspe back, a russet button-down uzil shirt clasped at the cuffs with lava sphalerites, an aged flamewood book case with a soulstone handle inlaid with faded holy symbols, some finely tailored bourde trousers sporting subtle pleats, an elegantly slender knife hilted with a single fae-carved absinthe emerald and some tawny brown shoes with classic leather piping enwreathing the vamp.

You are Vindicator Khearkrash NoRoken'Vilks, Protector of the Innocent of Elanthia, a Rakash Paladin. You have a wolfish face, gold-flecked eyes, one crystal green and one crystal blue and an elegant muzzle, a silver and white coat with silvered black masking, a long floofy tail and a well-defined build. You are one who towers among others for a Rakash. You have an elaborate arrangement of several Syrin's heart rings piercing the flesh of your lower lip, that have been attached to each other with thin lengths of diacan chain. Your right wrist has a tattoo of a kneeling Rakash thrusting a sword skyward as he is encircled by a ring of spectral apparitions.

a flowing bluefire velvet odaj clasped with a scorpion diamond brooch | Flowing gracefully over a single shoulder, the luxurious weave of this fabric causes a lightning-like effect across the surface of the garment with each step. Platinum threads grace the edges of this garment in an elaborate scrollwork pattern. The image of a howling wolf in front of the black moon Katamba is stitched onto the upper chest. |
Floor-length serpentine leather duster with audrualm clasps | Embroidered on the back of the deep black coat is a depiction of the great moon Katamba with hints of gold showing through the ebon coloration. The outline of a lone crow can be seen traversing across the lunar object, while a lean badger stands watch below. Extending from the scene, and down the sleeves, a trail of pearlescent butterflies flutter around several labyrinthine sigils. Buckles fashioned from the bluish-grey metal cascade down the front of the coat and secure the fit of each cuff. |

An enormous haralun greatsword with an ornate buffalo skull hilt | A massive buffalo skull reinforced with darkstone plates rests at the top of the handgrip. Its upswept horns, artfully laced with tyrium veins, provide both reinforcement as well as an appearance of gore. Inside each eye socket, a scorpion diamond glitters, revealing the inclusions for which they are named. A group of vulture feathers suspended from barbed chains dangles from the hilt, their barbs dotted with tiny shrike's eye sapphires. The initials C. M. are impressed on the blade. |
a cavalier's partisan with a dragonwood haft | Razor-edged flames rise up each side of the spearhead, crafted from varying shades of rubies encased in icesteel, spewing forth from the gaping maw of a niniam dragon-shaped langet. Molten-core diamonds are inlaid into the metal to create a pair of eyes for the fierce creature, the dull red light refracting violently through the crystal clear cocoons. Engraved down the length of the dark scaled haft is a bold inscription.
There appears to be something written on it.Awrocis del Roken Vilks, uz aizstavet dzirta Ak |
Damite tower shield dusted with soulstone motes and flakes of tyrium | Directly in the center of the shield, in place of boss is a menacing vulture's skull, coated over with just enough damite to let some parts of the natural bone show through. The bird's beak is open in threat, and the crushed soulstone glitters around it in alternating patterns that draw further attention to the skull. Pitch black feathers hang from the bottom of the shield, each one wrapped at the end with spirals of tyrium. |
Ebon-hued full plate inlaid with a tomiek vulture skeleton | At the center of the damite breastplate, a tomiek vulture skeleton is arranged with spindly wings upraised in the moment before flight, hunched neck curved upward to display its hooked beak. The overall image is revealed in hues of the darkest blacks, the chitinous, dark tomiek gleaming dully against the deep ebon damite, lighter niello scrollwork embellishing the pauldrons and body. Small channels in the cuirass are wrought as if to direct the flow of blood toward the vulture. |
Battle-worn leather cowl decorated with a vulture's skull adorned in jewels | A vulture's skull, with eye sockets filled by twin lava sphelerite orbs, crowns the cowl to rest comfortably upon the wearer's head. Interlocking rings of silversteel, entwined with a multitude of viperscale alexandrites hang loosely from a thick band of droluger hide to lend additional protection to the wearer's neck. In place atop the cowl sits a mammoth bone plate, carved to have the appearance of many feathers. |

A golden warrior's mask resembling a Rakash in moonskin | Artfully rendered into the shape of a stoic Rakash while in moonskin, this mask is held to the wearer's face by thick leather straps attached to aged steel buckles. Set into the forehead is a lone Enelne's eye.
An animite inlay of a murder of crows taking flight graces the left cheek and extends to the top of the mask. Parts of the aged wood are visible around the buckles where the gold has been scraped off from repeated wear. |
