Description

You see Shadow Huntress Talliska Wildclaw of Zoluren, a Prydaen Ranger.
She has pointed ears and cat-slitted gold eyes. Her honey-streaked dark brown mane is long and curly, and is worn in a tousled mass of locks that tumbles over her shoulders. She has tawny fur with a white belly and black rosettes, a slender tail and a lithe figure.
She is tall for a Prydaen.
She is a bird-hunter.

She is wearing a dark steel earcuff hung with an arrowhead-shaped scarlet jade, a forest-green felt sochi with a carved white ironwood medallion, a belted kidskin baldric tooled with sinuous maiden's tress vines, a forest-hued chmir triple wrapped in beaded bronze cord, an archer's brace pad reinforced with bleached bone, a slender platinum wedding band channel-set with oval blood-red rubies, a braided rose gold friendship ring with spiral autumn-hued glass beads, an albredine crystal ring and a thigh quiver.

At Ruea and Traim's wedding

(One of the rare times Talliska has been complimented on her outfit. She does get dressed up... now and then.)

She is wearing a pair of sun-shaped dafora pearl earrings surrounded by jeweled flames, a strand of champagne pearls clasped by a yellow sapphire teardrop set in gold, a white spidersilk gown embroidered at the shoulder with a shining sun, a gold elongated teardrop bracelet strung with jade beads and tiny gold bells, a slender platinum wedding band channel-set with oval blood-red rubies, a gold ring, a wide belt of interlocking gold panels set with jade inlays and some pale gold leather slippers with yellow sapphire beading.

Quick Facts

Affiliations: Wildclaw Hub (eldest surviving member)

Birthday: Born on the 39th day of the 2nd month of Ka'len the Sea Drake in the year of the Crystal Snow Hare, 356 years after the victory of Lanival the Redeemer.

Lineage: Forest Prydaen. Daughter of Drashre and Chadralor of Wildclaw Hub. Younger sister of Evaneska, taken in by Starclaw Hub.

Relationship Status: Bonded to Saisen Vilhelmas on 1 Moliko 402.

Religion: The Prydaen Three, Eu, Demrris and Tenemlor. Talliska is particularly devoted to the aspect of Tenemlor, whom she praises for her staunch opposition against the undead and necromancy. Despite her belief in the Three, though, she also acknowledges the existence of the Thirteen and their importance to the people of Kermoria.

Background

Talliska is one of the last surviving members of Wildclaw Hub in the distant west, brought as an infant to Zoluren at the end of the Great Migration. Her father Drashre and mother Chadralor died to ensure she would be safely brought to Rivercrossing, and raised as an orphan in the Empath Guild. With little talent or patience for the Empathic profession, she opted to joined the Ranger Guild instead, and has not once regretted the decision.

Despite having migrated so young, Talliska was still exposed to Prydaen language and culture for much of her early life, so that she would not forget her heritage. Habit, along with several years of hermitage in the forests of Therengia, caused her to adopt a rather awkward way of speaking Common. She used to be very shy about this quirk, but found that people tend to think her more memorable for it. Nonetheless, she is now quite fluent in her adopted language, due to her well-spoken friends and her work as an Order councilor and officer.

Mindful of the negative reputation Prydaen have attracted in Kermoria, Talliska strives be recognized not just by her race, but through her deeds, her loyalty and her respect towards others. She expresses neither prejudice for nor superiority toward other races, and is eager to learn more about cultures and practices beside her own.

Though Talliska's responsibilities have often required her attendance at social events and political meetings, she is still a Ranger at heart and enjoys wilderness and solitude if left to her own devices. Now and then she will make a public appearance during times of strife, or at the behest of certain friends who know how to find her.

Marriage

Talliska's only significant long term relationship is with Saisen Vilhelmas, a Paladin of mixed Elothean and--previously unknown--Human lineage through his mother. She spent years feeling torn between her love for Saisen and her Prydaen heritage, but has since settled comfortably into life among the myriad people of the five provinces. It once pained her that she will never be able to biologically reproduce with her lifemate, but her dedication to Tenemlor, the people she loves and the causes she supports are more than enough to fill her days with purpose.

During a period between approximately 400-402, Saisen went missing during a mission he undertook for an organization that called themselves Phelim's Bloodhounds. As far as Talliska is aware, the Bloodhounds were dishonest about their true goals and affiliations, and effectively brainwashed Saisen to do their bidding for a time. Her absence during the latter half of 401 and early 402 can be attested to her quest to search for him when she suddenly and abruptly felt their bond snap.

When Talliska and Saisen were first reunited, he was in a weakened state and lost all memory of his previous life, including their relationship. Thus she remained unbonded, though stubbornly devoted to him. It took several months for the haze of dark enchantment to lift from his mind.

Talliska and her husband have since renewed their bond, and are once again a quietly but steadfastly devoted couple.

Chronology

390-391: Joined the Order of the White Rose. Promoted to Specialist for her document on Prydaen in Kermoria, then to Councilor for her help with interviewing recruits.

Lirisa 391: First bonded to Saisen Diamiiele, now Vilhelmas, in a private ceremony on the bridge of Tamsine's Rest.

392-396: Disappeared from Zoluren without warning. Traveled to the site of the barrier that kept Lyras in Prydaen and Rakash lands, hoping for a glimpse of what was once Wildclaw Hub, and to ensure her ancestors are properly put to rest.

Shorka 396: Returned to Zoluren to participate in defending her home province against the undead legions of Lyras and her minions, Sahfra and Tachid. Reinstated in the White Rose as a regular member, as atonement for abandoning her responsibilities and to give herself time to train her skills.

222 Arhat 396: Promoted to Specialist in the White Rose Recruiting Team, assisting then-Councilor Samarah Riverhawke. Her work as assistant was primarily to write and edit the core documents of the new Recruiting Program that Samarah pioneered.

33 Akroeg 397: Reunited with her long-lost niece Nealie, the daughter of her deceased sister, Evaneska Wildclaw. This was the first time Talliska has been aware that she had any sort of blood relations still surviving.

36 Akroeg 397: Promoted to Councilor of the Order of the White Rose, while retaining her role as Recruiting Assistant.

Shorka 397: Worked tirelessly as a rescuer in the last month of the Lyras War, dragging casualties to the White Rose's Temple Triage under dangerous circumstances. Talliska continued this work all the way until the historic demise of Lyras, Sahfra and Tachid on 153 Shorka.

176 Uthmor 397: Nominated for the new Council position of Rescue Coordinator. Upon accepting, Talliska believed erroneously she would be able to continue her work with the Recruiting Team as well. This led to a series of damaging misunderstandings, which took many months to unravel.

Nissa 397: Following several departures from the Order, Talliska was asked to take over the Recruiting Director position. She did not settle easily into the job at first, as her confidence had been shaken. Eventually she asked for Mialeigh as her assistant and took a short hiatus.

Akroeg 398: Returned to active duty with the Order of the White Rose.

221 Arhat 398: Began assisting with the new series of Zoluren Town Meetings hosted by the White Rose.

302 Skullcleaver 398: Honored by Brigadier General Zukir for her work in gathering intelligence during the Naarg invasions, on recommendation by retired Military Liaison Cyiarriah. Alexsei was also honored for organizing triage, and the White Rose in general praised for its work.

0 Akroeg 399: Nominated for Lorekeeper (Treasurer) of the Order of the White Rose. At the same time, Talliska asked that her assistant Mialeigh take over the Recruiting Director duties.

73 Ka'len 399: With the assistance of Liurilias, former Court Cleric of Ilithi, Talliska held a ceremony at the Prydaen Favor Altar to formally accept Nealie, her niece, and Zyyn, a recruit she advised for the White Rose, as members of Wildclaw Hub. They have also legally been named her adopted daughters.

180 Uthmor 399: Officially promoted as Treasurer of the Order of the White Rose. As the Order's third officer, Talliska was granted the additional responsibility of overseeing its Public Relations and Historical Records branches.

Arhat 401: Requested a sudden hiatus due to family emergency, upon the sundering of her bond with Saisen. Talliska spent the next year in search of her husband, then aiding him to recuperate when he was found in a severely weakened, amnesiac state.

3 Arhat 402: Returned to Zoluren with Saisen; awaiting word of her duties, if any.

29 Arhat 402: Nominated and inducted as Vice-Speaker of the White Rose.

1 Moliko 402: Celebrated the renewal of her bond of marriage with Saisen.

403: A year dominated by frequent and clandestine journeys, described by Talliska as 'personal obligations'. Her presence and commitment to the White Rose has been diminished by unfortunate necessity, but she will return before the end of the year.

21 Dolefaran 403: Once again resumed active duty as Vice-Speaker of the White Rose, after ensuring the safety of her dear friend Mialeigh--who disappeared so suddenly from the public eye--and her son, Beriden.

30 Shorka 404: Disappeared on unknown business without warning, a habit she has found it difficult to break. Valkieria Odainsaker has capably taken over Talliska's position as Vice-Speaker.

Akroeg 406: At the start of the New Year, Talliska has been heard on the gweths and glimpsed on the streets of the Crossing. She is assumed to be unaffiliated, though still strongly loyal to Zoluren.

Skullcleaver 407: Once again the hermit she was in her youth, Talliska has chosen to focus on travel and training.
