Please add Gwenddolyn to the Player Armorsmiths page. Also is there a Shield Forgers Page? She forges both Metal shields and armor. The link to the page is on the bottom of her profile page, but her name does not appear on the Player Armorsmiths Page. Thanks! Player of Gwenddolyn |

theme music
Are we allowed to add theme music to a wiki page... or rolling credits?
- Go ahead and link to music if you like, but nothing that auto-plays on the page itself, assuming we're even set up to do that.
- As for animations, I'm going to say no. And I'll even add it to the MOS, as that seems to be missing from it. -CARAAMON (talk) 16:00, 10 February 2015 (CST)
Crafting material pages
So I thought I was making up the BONE item pages the same as how you'd made up the METAL item pages, but now I see you're starting to do re-directs on them to other page names. First off, sorry! Guess I should have just done one and gotten you to look it over first. So, with that in mind, do you want to go ahead and do the first leather item up (right now, looks like Antelope skin), so I have a template to do the other leather items that way too so that you won't have to go back and fiddle them later? Not trying to make more work for you...:) --Kythryn 14:51, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm still testing it, trying to find the way that makes the most sense. Metals and stones are fairly simple, as they always are obvious what they are. Skin and bones isn't always quite so straightforward. I list them in stack form for a couple reasons:
- So people can easily match what's in their pack to crafting stats.
- Because some skin/bones we can't actually attribute to a specific creature yet or come from multiple creatures.
- Because some skin/bones is very oddly named.
- Because some similarly named items might end up being very different (Snow Goblin bones might end up different than Elven Pixie Forest and Plains Goblin bones) and so having a Goblin Bone page could cause issues.
- That being said, this is a wiki and not my personal little fiefdom, so if you think you have a better way to do it, PLEASE give it a shot. I watch all the changes on the site (or at least try), so even if I disagree and change it, some part of your idea may end up being far better. -Moderator Caraamon Makdasi(talk) 19:01, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
- You may not claim the title, but we all know: You're king of the Elanthipedia Kingdom...:).
- So, on the stack vs. no-stack thing, I see where you're coming from. But, on the flip side of that, if you're looking to match what is in a pack, why not lumium shard or silk cloth or onyx rock? I mean, the only thing you can (currently) pick up from it's name is a prepared healing herb (ie. crushed belradi moss becomes crushed belradi), everything else you see as a "cloth" or an "ingot" or whatever. (not trying to be difficult here, but seems like the other materials already have their "qualifier" stripped off, so why not with Bone & Leather too).
- And, we do already have Goblin Bone and Pale Goblin Bone (thanks to Antendren checking a snow goblin question I had) so I do suspect that if the GM's release something from 2 similar creatures, they will give it a separate name. Hopefully. Probably. Maybe.
- At the end of the day, I don't really care how we proceed with this, I'm happy to help populate everything. --Kythryn 00:55, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- And because I'm just itching to do something with this tonight it seems, I have been playing around with Caracal-pelt Leather, including the base pelt and made a test table under the COMMON LEATHER section on the Crafting Materials page. Let me know what you think, make changes, etc. Thanks! --Kythryn 03:32, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

- ugh, sorry I didn't get all those leather crafting supplies finished up yet but I did guilt Anuind into getting me samples of all the remaining common leather skins and have them tanned. So, I am (hoping!) to finish that up this coming weekend. That being said, I'd posted on the forums, and will add this to the "crafting feedback" page too, but since there are currently 2 common skins that turn into "some azure-scale leather", each with different stats, should I go ahead and make "some azure-scale leather (1)" and "some azure-scale leather (2)", and a master "disambig" page like this link for both?

- Ugh, looks like some red-links are still on the crafting materials page from the server transfer. Also, there are some naming things going on when you look at the Crafting Materials#Rare Leather, sometimes it is an item other times it is just a page. I don't think I'll be re-visiting this in the near future, however if you want to let me know the page naming standard you want for things, if it hasn't been done by the time I motivate, I'll be happy to go through and standardize and follow-up on the red-links. --Kythryn 15:33, 25 January 2015 (CST)

Crossing Temple Festival
So, when I was working on the choryu cake page, I found an archived folder on my backup drive that had a bunch of documents I'd made from various festivals over years before sweet, sweet epedia came along (heh). I'll work my way through updating things over the next week from them, but I found one that epedia doesn't have (I don't think anyhow, I couldn't find anything with searches) a category and/or festival page set up for yet. In 2001, the "new" Crossing temple was opened and there were about 15 merchants that set up on the grounds. Did you want to set that category & festival page up? Or create the red-links here and I'll populate them next time I sit down to document? Thanks! --Kythryn 10:52, 13 January 2015 (CST)
- Yeah, I think it was too early for Epedia and too late for DFP, or something around there. Just keep 'em redlinked until you put something in there. -CARAAMON (talk) 16:11, 13 January 2015 (CST)
- Whew, your TALK page is getting long! Popular fella...:). Going to put a quick note on these sub-topics I've addressed so you can clean your "inbox" up if you want.
- Linett got me motivated to finish this, I think she dug up the Sputkin tent or something. So, I guess this is done pending edits: Temple Reopening. --Kythryn 15:14, 25 January 2015 (CST)
Hib Barbarian shop
Heya! I'm updating some of the Hib stuff, and in the Barbarian guild, there is a door that looks like is Barb-only and it looks to be a shop.
- >look door
- Polished into the brushed bronze of the door are letters that spell out, "Kvaren's".
- It is open.
- >go doo
- A large hand reaches out from behind the curtain and blocks your entrance. A burly guard mutters to you, "Just where, do you think yer goin? This shop is fer members of the Guild only."
I don't know how often you get out of Crossing, but if you're ever out this way, or you know a Barb in the area, might have them pop over and document the stuff? From the street, go boulder, go door, go grey arch, east, SE, east. That puts you in the room to GO DOOR to the shop. --Kythryn 16:06, 31 January 2015 (CST)
Pit Boards
Being the resident Barbarian expert around here...:) Did you want a page created for the Pit Board rosters? I'm sitting here looking at the Ratha one, and while I'm guessing it has to do with Barbarians beating the tar out of each other, I figured I'd ask before jumping into formatting the table for it if there's some reason it shouldn't be on epedia. Thanks! --Kythryn 01:33, 7 March 2015 (CST)
- We have guild renown boards, so I don't see why not. Go for it! -CARAAMON (talk) 17:54, 7 March 2015 (CST)
Forging lightweight HCS Poignards
Forging lightweight poignards from HCS for gnomes: a) I have found no way to reflect "honed" in the HC Steel table. Honed is the only way I know to make a 6 stone poignard from HCS, but I would prefer to make it explicit if possible. Can that be shown? How? b) my appraisals (certain) for 6 stone (honed) and 7 stone HCS poignards are identical to one another at mod/low/dismal, terrible, except-well/dismal when masterfully crafted from 99 material. Wondering if the 7 stone data in the table (shows excellently balanced) is a reality I somehow cannot duplicate, represents a balanced poignard not evident in the table, or an error. Please advise --Jbeetle 18:16 March 27, 2015 (UTC)
- I've set up a temporary way to display notes, but I'm not sure we should do it. Balancing for sure is out, as it has predictable results always, but honing is still a problem as it will double the size of the tables. I'll have to think about it.
- I rechecked the poignard and you were right, the balance was off.-CARAAMON (talk) 18:06, 27 March 2015 (CDT)
- Very good. Thanks for verifying the weapon balance. WRT to managing table size, perhaps the honed note (if preserved) should be reserved for weights that can only be achieved through honing. If so, then would it simply be supplemental and prevent unnecessary duplication? For your considerarion. -Jbeetle 21:52 27 March 2015 (CDT)
Forging Table Data Missing?
Went in today to look up some weapon properties and data in the tables has been replaced by "?" for everything except weight for some forged items including katar, carving knife, and short hammer. -Jbeetle 19:28 10 April 2015 (CDT)
- You can fix it by editing, making no changes, then saving. I'm not sure why it's happening, but I'll look into it. -CARAAMON (talk) 18:02, 10 April 2015 (CDT)
Old User Page
Hey Caraamon, assuming you still have admin/mod privs here can you move my old userpage from the prior incarnation of elanthipedia (User:Callek) to my new one User:CALLEK per the freemium play.net account I just got. (feel free to e-mail me at the address you likely have on record if you need a confirm). I'd also love getting some form of admin back, but I don't demand it at this time, since I am not yet certain how long I am back for (I haven't even chosen a guild for my newly created freemium character) --CALLEK (talk) 23:53, 23 April 2015 (CDT)
Metal mixes
Hi Caraamon -
I'm a ridiculously beginner forger but I am looking to get heavy into armorsmithing. Do you have any additional resources beyond what's on Elanthipedia for metal mixes? Or should I not even worry about alloys and the like?
Any advice would be awesome.
Thanks,
- Lyrandar

Searching
So, as an fyi, I learned that Searching the wiki fails when you uncheck various namespaces (e.g. if I want to search for stuff not in items, or not in Posts) I did verify that at least one thing in the "(Main)" namespace result set (a post) was actually in the Post namespace (per wiki {{NAMESPACE}}) which might be a need of regenerating the search/namespace index or something. --CALLEK (talk) 10:28, 27 April 2015 (CDT)
Semantic Media Wiki
So, when looking at special pages it appears that I have the admin access to the SMW functions (e.g. the regen all data). Which was already started when I looked, it's at 0%, I can infact cancel and restart those admin features.
I wonder if I retained/gained admin abilities in that regard again, or if everyone has those abilities (everyone shouldn't). It might also explain part of the issue with regard to the Semantic Searching not working. And might spell a problem with the overall SMW install.
Felt this was worth a note to pass off to SIMU-WHoever. --CALLEK (talk) 14:41, 27 May 2015 (CDT)
Woodland Wonders
Hey! I saw you happened on my faux shop page. I'm entering the Premie "Design a Shop" contest, and this seemed to be the best way for me to organize all the data. Hopefully it doesn't cause any issues!
- I'm afraid it does. We only allow actual existing in-game items to be put up. It would cause such confusion if people were allowed to put up their items they're considering altering (or even altering) or design ideas.
- I need you to take it down, please. I'll give you a couple days to do it, so you can save the info, but after that I'm going to have to start deleting it outright. -CARAAMON (talk) 16:14, 16 August 2015 (CDT)
Got it- I'll take it down ASAP.
Mistake?
Hey Caraamon, either this ([1]) was a mistake or its not, if not you likely need to remove ref to SIMUCOIN, if it is not as well I'd love a citation, since I *just* bought simucoins for offline drain as well, since I didn't have it as f2p as of a few days ago. --CALLEK (talk) 00:22, 1 September 2015 (CDT)
Forged steel greataxe
Caraamon,
I'm a fairly new adventurer (Circle 19 Barb) I'm fairly curious if you've found, in your experience, that lighter or heavier weapons deal more damage over time. I find that I generally have better luck with lighter 2HE. Is this typical of lower base strength and agility characters? If so, what is the lightest steel greataxe you can forge is it 44, or can there be an 8% reduction on top of that which would bring it to 41 or 40 stones?
-Halgore
- It's really not that simple. If you're just moving into a hunting area or are having trouble hitting things, a light balanced weapon is going to excel. If you're already well into your hunting ground, then heavier, more damaging weapons start to pull ahead.
- 44 is the lightest standard steel greataxe that can be made, but yes, it can be honed further down to 40. -CARAAMON (talk) 23:47, 27 November 2015 (CST)
Player Armorsmiths page
Please add Gwenddolyn to the Player Armorsmiths page. Also is there a Shield Forgers Page? She forges both Metal shields and armor. The link to the page is on the bottom of her profile page, but her name does not appear on the Player Armorsmiths Page. Thanks! Player of Gwenddolyn
