It should be noted that parrying does teach specific weapon skills. Example: If I were to parry with a longsword I would also gain experience in the [[Heavy Edged skill]] as well as Parry. One other interesting note is that both [[Paladins]] and [[Barbarians]] can parry ranged weapons so long as the shooter is within the range of their weapon. This is done by using the sword to deflect the aim of the ranged weapon.
Parrying also teaches some of the skill of the weapon you are parrying with. Example: If one were to parry with a longsword one would gain experience in the [[Heavy Edged skill]] in addition to Parry.

One other interesting note is that both [[Paladins]] and [[Barbarians]] can knock aside stick bows if the shooter fires within the range of the parrying weapon. To be successful they must have some defensive stance points allocated to parry.

Parrying also teaches some of the skill of the weapon you are parrying with. Example: If one were to parry with a longsword one would gain experience in the Heavy Edged skill in addition to Parry.

One other interesting note is that both Paladins and Barbarians can knock aside stick bows if the shooter fires within the range of the parrying weapon. To be successful they must have some defensive stance points allocated to parry.
