[Rossgallan Keep, Weaponsmith's Shop]
With a dirt floor and roughly finished wooden walls, not to mention the crudely darned breeches hanging from the edge of the apprentices' sleeping loft above, the shop will never win prizes for its charm. But Lord Rossman has long been known for his skill as a blacksmith, and he and his journeymen offer a fine selection of halberds and longswords to customers who visit his Keep. You also see Journeyman Maechlyn and a wooden barrel.
Obvious exits: out.
In the wooden barrel you see a short oak-hafted halberd with a flamberge blade, a spiral-hafted steel halberd etched with ivy and hawthorn berries, a bronze-inlaid steel halberd with a polished mistwood haft, a balanced steel longsword with a gilded ribbon hilt and a lightened cavalry longsword with an amethyst pommel.
a short oak-hafted halberd with a flamberge blade - 6500 L
The wavy edge to the blade is harder to sharpen, but fans of the design swear it changes the normal slice of a blade into more of a jagged rip. Padded grips wound with scarlet leather give a secure hold in combat.
a spiral-hafted steel halberd etched with ivy and hawthorn berries - 6500 L
The ivy twists and turns on itself to form an elaborate knotwork design, adorned by clusters of hawthorn berries.
a bronze-inlaid steel halberd with a polished mistwood haft - 7500 L
Careful craftsmanship results in an intricate design of bronze lions, their tails intertwined in an elaborate knot, straining toward either end of the blade.
a balanced steel longsword with a gilded ribbon hilt - 12600 L
Decorative steel ribbons curve around the hilt, each gilded and burnished to a high gleam. The metal curves around in a gradual spiral to form a basket to guard the user's hand.
a lightened cavalry longsword with an amethyst pommel - 11500 L
The pommel stone is set in an intricate silver bezel that forms the petals of a rose, with the cabochon amethyst nestling within its heart.
>ask maec about custom
Maechlyn says, "Eh, you won't do it justice, but yeah, I do some custom work. If you're interested, I can make the following weapons:"
1) halberd 2) glaive 3) longsword
[ORDER # FROM MAECHLYN]
Maechlyn grumbles, "So, you'd like to order a longsword? I doubt you can wield it, but it's your funeral. I can make that in the following materials:"
1) steel 2) iron 3) bronze
[ORDER # FROM MAECHLYN]
Maechlyn sighs, "All right, that'll be a steel longsword. What kind of finish do you want? Mind I ain't going to make something tacky. Take your pick:"
1) pitted 2) stained 3) notched 4) etched 5) enameled 6) repousse 7) sharpened 8) polished 9) burnished 10) gleaming 11) gold-washed 12) damascened 13) folded 14) patterned 15) tinted
[ORDER # FROM MAECHLYN]
Maechlyn says, "It takes all kinds, I guess. Okay, that's going to be a gold-washed steel longsword. Now, I'm going to put a gemstone pommel on it, but since you're buying it, I suppose you can pick the gem:"
1) coral 2) rutilated quartz 3) water opal 4) bloodstone 5) agate 6) jasper 7) onyx 8) turquoise 9) carnelian 10) citrine 11) amethyst 12) beryl 13) jade 14) peridot 15) garnet 16) topaz 17) amber 18) sapphire 19) ruby 20) emerald 21) diamond
[ORDER # FROM MAECHLYN]
"Okay, okay," Maechlyn says. "I suppose you won't look too terribly stupid carrying a gold-washed steel longsword with a nice bloodstone pommel. No more than you usually do, at least. I'm going to do some intaglio carving on the bloodstone. Which of these d'you want carved in it?"
1) willow tree 2) lily 3) rose 4) viper 5) cobra 6) king snake 7) stallion 8) cat 9) hound 10) boar 11) stag 12) fox 13) peacock 14) vulture 15) raven 16) tiger 17) cougar 18) lion 19) ghost 20) zombie 21) skeleton 22) centaur 23) unicorn 24) pegasus 25) hippogriff 26) gryphon 27) dragon
[ORDER # FROM MAECHLYN]
Maechlyn shrugs and says, "All right, that's a gold-washed steel longsword with an intaglio stag carved in the bloodstone pommel -- it's not bad. You won't look as stupid as most heroes, at least. I can make that for you for 13810 lirums. And no, I don't bargain. You got the money, and want to buy, then I'll need you to confirm it."
[ORDER 1 FROM MAECHLYN to confirm your order] [ORDER 0 FROM MAECHLYN to start over again]
Maechlyn stares at you in disbelief. "All that and you REFUSE?! Why, I oughtta..." Turning away with a muttered curse, he tears up your ticket, muttering something about wasted time.
