Left Unsaid
Is it selfish, the way I feel? My heavy heart I know is real. I miss you everyday. Is it for you or for me?
Remember those things we’ve left unsaid. Spoken a million times in your head. Never aloud did we ever say, Those things left unsaid.
In my life you made a difference. But did you make the inference? When never did we say. Those simple words.
Remember those things we’ve left unsaid. Spoken a million times in your head. Never aloud did we ever say, Those things left unsaid.
You were a shield when ‘twas needed. Your kind advice we often heeded. How do we tell you now, What’s in our hearts?
Remember those things we’ve left unsaid. Spoken a million times in your head. Never aloud did we ever say, Those things left unsaid.
Do you know what you are to me? Never said, but we hoped you’d see. We dearly wish we could, Go back and tell you.
We hoped you’d know we hold you dear. Why can’t we always keep you near? Simple words, But lost somehow.
Remember those things we’ve left unsaid. Spoken a million times in your head. Never aloud did we ever say, You are special to me.
Conception Notes:
A while back the title "Left Unsaid" came into my head. As usual, I have no idea where it came from but felt it could be an important message so I made a note of it. I figured it would probably be Eerie focused (isn't everything?). It was after Kethrai's second Arthe Dale Concert in which he sang his song, Eury-something-mile (I love that song SO MUCH, but it gets me feeling weepy) that I sat down and began to write. Thoughts of Druesyllia (whose passing was extremely recent at this point) were also in my head so she figures here prominently. I once asked Drue about a shield and next thing you know she had it made. She was my literal shield. I've also seen her look at someone, tell them they needed better armor, make it as they chatted and then hand it to them. Kaelie is probably here too. Anyhow, the song flowed from there and was quickly completed. Once I get going, my writings don't usually take long.
You might be curious about the rhyme scheme. I was initially trying to come up with a more traditional rhyming pattern but then decided I didn't have to. It's pretty awesome being THE Cythra.
