note: there are two famous Skindancers that are known by the name Kir.
Cherulisa says, "A name of great good and great evil. Kir is the peace maker, who came from the powerful and barbaric D'Reathor yet spoke the words of the spirits. Many years later, and still with us today, is the false Kir. He claims the name, but his doctrine is twisted, violent, and insane."

Shaman Kir Dor'na'torna (the first one)
Signed Lunar Accord for Skindancers. Human.

Likely abandoned by parents, he was adopted by the D'Reathor, one of the more powerful tribes of the Steppe. After being forced to take drugs, had visions for five days, which made him the "local idiot". He was abandoned the following winter. When he returned, he was strong, purposeful, and strangely charismatic. He took leadership of the tribe and, over the next few years, all of the nomads of the Arid Steppe.

There are two significant personalities named Kir, Kir Dor'na'torna and a Bone Dancer named Kir. The latter claimed to be the former and this was accepted for unknown reasons, but their personalities were drastically different.
After sixty years, he felt something was missing -- bones. He disappeared, fearing violence would break out again. It did not.

From "Denizens of the Plane of Probability":
"Only one other shadow being has show the capacity for true conversation: the Umbramagus. These two-headed beings are dreadful in many other ways, bearing a resemblance to particular ancient icons of the G'nar Pethians and other groups. Though it is the equivalent of blasphemy to say, some even feel that the legendary Kir Dir'na'torna was possessed - or at least influenced -- by such an Umbramagus during his vision quest."

For greater detail, the Moon Mage guild has produced a monograph from the Profiles in Magic series about him.

Bone Dancer Kir (the second one)
Could be the same as the first Kir, but unlikely since he came long years after. Some believe that this Kir was a descendant of those who had fled the first Kir's naturalistic teachings.

Not the same calm and collected man, but spoke of finding beauty in death and bones. After the questionable death of the leader at the time, Kir convinced the elders to make him leader of the Skindancers. They begain to delve into macre rituals until Council Member Cherulisa became angered. She returned to the Steppe and spoke with Kir for several days. After that, he stormed off with some of his followers, claiming she had stolen his leadership. He was never seen again.
