An unrepaired gap in the bordering walls reveals the spilling grass, blown in ripples by the wind. Sheep graze across it, flecks of white and dark rising from the lushness. The grass sprouts a goodly share of thistle and milkweed near one of the less cared for crofts.

[Aesry Surlaenis'a, Garden]
A bent willow fence surrounds the garden to keep out trampling sheep. A pile of stones cleared from the area forms the beginning of a permanent wall along the northern edge. The soil is rich and deeply plowed, and the flowers and vegetables well-tended in their seasons.

[Aesry Surlaenis'a, Meadowlands]
The shoulders of the hillside shelter a group of cottages secluded in a grove of crabapple trees and willowy shrubs. Above, the path skirts a terrace of meadowlands and fields. A small communal garden fenced by bent willow grows on a flattened area a little farther down the hill. You also see an oak log cabin.

[Aesry Surlaenis'a, Meadowlands]
The dwelling of a small farmstead stands upon a flattened bump on the hillside, a flower pot with herbs at the door. The ground behind the cottage is rocky and perilously steep, but the white flecks upon it are a few intrepid sheep that somehow manage to make their way to browse on the persistent grass. A zig-zagging path climbs back to the road below. You also see a simple blue-shuttered cottage.
