* Per Armifer, "The redesigned offensive function of Dazzle is meant to fill a few niches in the Moon Mage spellbook. First, Dazzle will still be an easier, more mana efficient and user-friendly spell than Mental Blast. Dazzle cannot be turned back on its caster and Moon Mages will still be able to cap Dazzle significantly faster than Mental Blast. The effect of Dazzle is substantially weaker than Mental Blast, but for a long stretch of the Moon Mage's career it will be a more reliable disabler. Second, it uses a wholly different contest than the other Moon Mage disablers. This will allow Moon Mages more finesse in situations where contesting Will versus Will is undesirable, such as if you want to keep Shear up, or your opponent is an Elothean with a transparent skull. Description: | The Dazzle spell bathes the target in a bright flash of light. It's such a bright flash that it will disorient the target and cause them to stop in their tracks. The duration of the flash depends on the amount of power you put into the spell. While the flash will never last more than a moment, this can mean the difference between a barely seen flicker and a blinding experience.
Dazzle also interacts with the sigils lunar enchanters use to create their devices. While it is not the most elegant tool at an artificer's disposal, it favored by journeyman enchanters who want all their spells to be useful in the field. | |
Example Messaging: | You gesture at a <creature>. A flash of silvery-blue light envelops a <creature>! |
Notes
- If Xibar or Yavash, but not both are in the sky, the minimum amount of mana is reduced to 6. If both Xibar and Yavash are in the sky, the minimum amount of mana is reduced to 3.
- Produces a stun whose length scales up with the amount the caster won the contest by. It will also cause a target to stop advancing.
