Animal Lore has been replaced by the Outdoorsmanship skill.

Animal Lore was originally a skill solely available to Rangers, used to interact with their animal companions. The first major change was that it become available to all guilds, but never received much attention or things for it to be used it.

It was determined that Animal Lore was too narrow of a skill to be supported, and during the DR3 updates, it was integrated into the Outdoorsmanship skill.

There were a number of ways to train Animal Lore:

  • Feeding, signaling, and releasing Ranger companions.
  • Instructing horses/caravans.
  • Tending parasites (bloodworms, leeches, etc.)
  • Catching fish.
  • Animal Lore is a teachable skill.
